It makes much more sense to use the same body, but instead fit a 5inch oled screen (because you can these days). Not that anyone would do it, it is more expensive to construct and in their opinion not worth the tiny margins. But year it would sell like hot cakes.
A new SE phone on the other hand? Nope 4inch is too small for the multimedia era we live in. 5inch is more than 50% bigger without having to sacrifice dimensions (use bezeless design)...

Well iPhone SE is perfect size for me. I can use it with one hand without any issue, and reach every corner of the screen, it also fits my pocket perfectly and I don't have to walk weird while having it in my pocket because it limits my movement.
I wish there was another phone in that size with better specs...

Phones have not been made since 2015. Everybody buys tablets these days, pocketable tablets that is.

No the main concerne is phones are getting more and more expensive. That is a trend we consumers and customers need to put a stop to.

The big screen phones are only for grown up adults.

Navigation bar is at the bottom. There is absolutely no way you can reach with 1 hand.
If you mean status bar/notification shade-
You can swipe down on the fingerprint scanner. You don't even need to touch screen.
You really won a S8 but don't know this trick?
May be you don't own a S8 and only bitch*ng here.

The notch design or bezel less design has done pretty good job. But at the same time they've increased screen size. That's making single hand usage more uncomfortable. There may be one hand mode. But that isn't handy all the time.

Thankfully now we have 18:9 which is one of the few actual improvements in comfort over the last few years. It gave us back the screen estate stolen by the useless on-screen buttons.

The ideal screen size is 5 inch. Mobile companies should release mini versions. They should conduct a survey on whether consumers want compact size or bigger screen. If you want bigger screen then buy I pad or tablets.

But in the cruelest of ironies, they shrink bezels and make even bigger phones. The cure has turned out worse than the disease.
