Now that Huawei is pretty much at the top of the leaderboard - the only way Qualcomm's SD 855 can take the top prize is by perhaps equalling the Kirin 980's score with a few extra points here and there... Or else is they're going for gold - they need a double whammy - all they need to do is try and beat Apple's A12 as well... which is within the 100 point margin or error... Whatever said and done - this generation of Kirin definitely signals the arrival of a true flagship killer / competitor.

Why is SD845 so much behind even last year's A11 SoC? You can say benchmarks don't matter, but every once in a while you'll have to deal with these Apple fanboys who make a big deal out of their benchmark scores.
I want someone, anyone, in the Android space, to take the lead in both benchmarks and real-world performance. That's all.

Secondly, don't come up with nonsensical statistics because a lot of people do notice the difference in performance between different chipsets and make full use of it. Instead of making useless comments you should spend your time learning new things. And finally Kirin 980 has to compete with next year's Snapdragon chipset so this level of performance isn't enough for Huawei's asking price

I had a SD820 device, then a SD835 device and now a Kirin 970 device and all perform pretty much the same except on battery life, the 970 is pretty good on that spectrum

3390 single core not impressive at all. It's like 2 years behind Mapple and Samsong.

I disagree. I had p20 and it was laggy. I don't know if it was the software or the kirin 970. The oneplus 6 and 5t is much smoother and faster in everyday use.

the performance might be inmpressive (still nog beating apple) but at this point its just a numbers game. 99% of the buyers wont notice the difference between a kirin 970,980 a12 or 845.. heck even a 660
what more important is power efficiency

Manipulating? Cheating?
Scores based on hardware limitation, u can never lie above their limit performance. Previously cheated benchmark because of the GPU turbo used in the 3d mark app, and i always playing game using huawei phone with their game suite that enabled gpu turbo which is what the score numbers suggest.
Kirin flagship phone owner knows this, huawei's phone are top notch.
