Omega, 11 Oct 2018The Docks make up for that, well played on the pricing, lit... moreTo be honest, its overpriced. It doesn't seem that way but it really is. And the accessories are overpriced too. And that's a legitimate concern.
The next concern is the cameras. Almost always dualcamera devices mean worse photography, as single-camera devices force the OEM to actually implement it well. But this fake-marketing has become a success as the dumb-masses bought into it, without checking the facts, and being rational/scientific on the matter. So let's hope the cameras are closer to the performance of the iPhone XS Max, and further from the performance of the Essential Phone.
The other concern is the waterproofing. ASUS didn't pay to get it tested and qualify for IP68 (or greater) ingress protection rating. And they say it has some "water resistance" but that's very vague and can literally mean anything (ie splashproof/no protection). I'm not planning on gaming whilst scuba diving, but knowing the phone can safely handle a wet environment is something important.
I sort of wished each unit came with the GameVice controllers in the box, because it makes non-sense to NOT include them. It's a "pro gamer" orientated device, and these details make or break it. Also that Desktop Dock/Cradle should also come included with each unit, it should double-up as a Fast Charger, an Alarm Clock, and a TV/PC unit. So if both of these items were included in the package, I actually wouldn't have much of a problem with the profit-margins (or value proposition) of the pricing. Remember, the prices are going to inflate much much higher for other countries/currencies!!

- official prices for mainland China in mid Sept.
- just a bit later prices and pre-order for Taiwan, available there since 3rd Oct.
- a lot of leaks with official prices since end of Sept.
- some pre-orders in Oct.
and official in Italy on 4th Oct. 2018
