DT BOY, 11 Oct 2018samsung,ales are down is not about the head phone jack or b... moreTheir design is still cutting edge and no phone changes their design every single iteration unless they are still trying to find a design language.
And if that's the icky reason that sent you to an iPhone that's your own fault.
The reduced the bezels more than enough to make it great screen to body ratio and still have no notch.
They knew many didn't want the notch and didn't want to look like an iPhone.
And that still doesn't make sense then I guess intellectually it was a smart move for you to switch to iPhone anyway.

samsung, ales are down is not about the head phone jack or bigger battery is needed.Look i am a samsung faithfull and loyfor user but now have swap to iphone now .
WHY?
Simple ,design and innivative.Your design is outdated with the top and bottom chin is still there. We are moving to full screen era and your design since s8 to s9 still the same with the chin still there.
Look at the chinese phone manufacturer ,huawei ,oppo and xiaomi all are going for full screen.
Samsung ,wake up or in 5 years ahead you will RIP

Guys, we do not need wired jacks. we have wireless charging and wireless earphones for that.
Casual people have voted with their money. wireless earphones are the new hype. time to get on the train!

The 3.5mm headphone jack is one of Samsung's key selling point which most OEMs already killed it. If Samsung killed it then it will be a huge dissapointment. Listen to your customers Samsung. This is an important feature that shouldn't be killed.

Kiyasuriin, 10 Oct 2018But what about DJs (Yes. I am also a DJ in my free time. fi... moreFirstly, I'm on your side regarding headphone socket, I think high end phones should still have it even though I do use Bluetooth headphones mostly, but good quality ones (Sennheisser Momentum 2.0 over ears) and find the audio quality really good. (although that could be because I'm getting on a bit and my ears have lost their audiophile superpowers...lol)
But my main question is do you DJ from your phone. Jacked headphones and equipment that use them aren't going anywhere. So DJ headphones/equipment should be OK. And I could be wrong in this but would any true audiophile consider a phone to be a suitable source? At least without passing it through an external amp and DAC first that would have the 3.5mm socket?
Not disagreeing with you, just curious.

Let me ask all of you people in this forum? Many years from now, the prices of the smartphone industry will go up to $1200 or more, and the smartphone industry will probably have certain features that the consumers want and not want. Do you think that there should be limits to what smartphone industry should have and not have?

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2018I don't understand why there aren't more usb-c wired headph... moreWell I would say that it is because then those headphones couldn't be used on any other equipment than a smartphone or other device with USB C connection. Although a dongle could be made for USB C to 3.5mm male plug as we'd use our phones on the go so the dongle can be kept at home (and not lost/left somewhere) to use the USB C headphones on other equipment with 3.5mm socket.
