it is just a cool app. not so much of a security feature. a fingerprint sensor can be tricked. how would the phone supposed to know that it is a picture or the actual face ?!
it is not a retina scanner, now is it?
it shouldn't be a surprise for anybody else other than crApple fans who live in the iCloud where 800$ phones with no signal or lame battery are cool

maybe they should combine it with voice signature like you have to look at the phone and say hi or any word the phone. so if you move your lips the phone knows you are a person and if you say hi knows your voice as well. Of course all of that could be recorded on a cell phone but will be harder than merely just taking a photo of someone'S face.

This is a gimmick that 99% of phone users will turn off, so what's the point of including it?
Android's fall from grace will be faster than its rise to the top.

OMG! seriously.. this feature make it that u cont even have to touch the screen to unlock.. as in pull you phone out, press a key, it sees u and unlocks.. its called convenience..
is slide to unlock a secure feature??? if you wanna securely lock ur phone u will have a sim pin, and all the security pins u can set.. there r even apps on the market that lock certain apps with a more secures encryption.. im sure if your a nobody... no1 is gonna want to hack into ur phone to look at the pictures of ur cat

Der Face-Unlock feature is not a security feature, it's just a feature to unlock the Screen without using your hands.
So dont cry.

Either way you can override the picture unlock if you know the persons password. so its a pointless way to unlock a phone.

no matter, 13 Nov 2011This means, front camera takes sneaky pictures 24/7 I will... moreif you look at the video more closely you'll find that you have to press the power button before the phone starts searching for a face, furthermore the face unlock option can be disabled, it just appears to be a lazy way of slide unlocking your phone rather than adding security.

Even if the phone will mostly take picture of the ceiling or the ground when its facing downwards.
And even the phone is not actually taking pictures , but is in fact just a rumour.
You need to see a therapist , you have serious problems. Conspiracy theory with phones camera? seriously? :))))
