Holes in the screen is also not a very good solution. what's the problem with small bezel until you can hide the camera under the screen? I understand it can be problematic right now, but I think it can be solved by hardware and software. Maybe full screen until you need front camera and then part of the screen where camera is placed becomes transparent. The screen itself will look smaller but just for the duration of the selfie or video call.

And in fact Samsung was not the first to be released but Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, Sony or Oppo were the first. It's just a trick to name brands and so people like Samsung. Samsung is not the best brand, they have produced a failed product (Galaxy Note7).

Right now Samsung is the emperor of OLED display....their own mobiles (starting mid-range) offering great display tech for many years across spectrum. Others tried, even in Mac's(iMac or MBP) Samsung displays are defect free and good....

AhmedShaikh, 20 Oct 2018Where exactly has it been talked about? Provide some source... moreDude, I’ve had the under-screen camera and under-screen fingerprint idea when the first phone that used the screen as its speaker came out. I think it was the Sharp Aquos. See when that was announced and you will know the time since people were thinking/talking about this stuff.

Can’t wait to see this tech implemented properly on the next iPhones. Because we all know samsung makes the displays, but Apple uses them better and at their fullest potential.

Nice innovation!
Samsung is not "the only company to stay away from notches" though. Sony, HTC, smartisan and 360 don't use notches either, and Meizu only has one notched phone(X8).
