Sure, it's a win for consumers but straight up plagiarism isn't good for industry. You're just giving copycat brands a chance to make loads of money without any effort. I personally dislike these brands. They do offer cheaper alternatives but it's not fair for the brands which actually made the effort.

thats true innovation, not like huawei nano sd to suck every pennie of the zombie fanboys.

That's really awesome. Samsung take your time and make it comparable to current standards. Perfection is equally important.

I am okay with a tiny hole in the display for the front-camera for now, in case the tech isn't ripe. Still better than doing the notch. With Samsung ditching Iris scanner in S10 series, they can figure out a different place for proximity sensors and earpiece. Don't keep the chin though like any other Android phone. And a year later, most probably a true all-front display with the front-cam embedded under the display.

Samsung has the capability, workforce & budget to pull this off. I sure hope they do so indeed. Any devices with such technology will obviously be very expensive at launch, but once the tech is there, then others can study & replicate the tech at cheaper prices by cutting corners & limiting profit.
