Nick Tagataka, 22 Oct 2018You know that P-OLED display on last year's LG V30 was nowh... moreI own V30 . It has a superb display. Better than S9+. Just Note 9 reached same level of quality. I compared them MYSELF . NOT youtube comparisons - each youtube-er is subiective ( to read 💰💰) .
I preordered Mate 20 Pro. I will compare MYSELF with Lg V30 : camera and display . If it's better I'll keep it, if not I'll ask my money back
MYSELF - not comparisons on youtube
On YouTube V30 has only good Display, but in reality better than Xs and S9+
In reality V30 has top 3 battery life - how many of you know that ?
If V40 had 4000Mah .... That would have been my choice...
But I'm a hard hard user....

As of now, only Pixel, Iphone & Sony gives natural & detail selfie.

And the new Iphone XS got the beautygate as well. This has to stop. U can put beauty mod, but give us the option to turn it off.

Personally, I won't buy Huawei Phone again unless they resolve the selfie issue.
The quality is bad compare to others.

AnonD-632062, 21 Oct 2018Nope. The specs page and the review of the P20 Pro says oth... moreNope, only the telephoto lens has OIS... there's a reason why the camera viewfinder wobbles hard when you shake the phone. Huawei doesn't say it has OIS and JerryRigEverything's teardown video proves their claim.

Aspros, 21 Oct 2018Such shame, the mate series was Huawei's best ever chance... moreIt's way too early to draw any conclusion on the face unlock on Mate 20 Pro! There was a time when a mother's iPhone X's Face ID was unlocked by her son's face, even though their faces look quite different. Plus the whole Mate 20 series is running on pre-production software, so let's see how they will fix it by the release of the retail software version.

Anonymous, 21 Oct 2018Mate 20 Pro has oled from BOE. Lower quality than LG oled. You know that P-OLED display on last year's LG V30 was nowhere near as good as Mate 10 Pro's BOE-sourced OLED display, right?

We all have different taste and opinions.
U remind me of this fake news man called Trump, he shouting on everything in life, just because he can open his mouth. Still i haven't heard one reasonable word from him in years... but i feel sad for him and u to my little friend.
Must be a poor life being angry at a smartphone and on people with another opinion.

AnonD-632062, 21 Oct 2018Nope. The specs page and the review of the P20 Pro says oth... moreHuawei says there is no OIS.

Companies avoid OIS for 1/2.3" because of the increased size of the module.
Of course they would not use for 1/1.7".

The phones with OIS have poor Stabilization at 4K60 due to absent EIS, you can see that P20 Pro 4K30 shakes much more.
Even with OIS, it is impossible to remain steady using shutter slower than 1s. Night mode is many shots of faster shutter, not one of 6s.

Quite disappointed really. A Mate 20 X with IP68, QHD screen, 256GB storage and working on CDMA would be great.

                                  Here's my take:

                                  Mate 20 Pro:
GORGEOUS screen, great processor, awesome camera (couldn't care less about the selfie camera as I have long arms so whatever. lol.), and even attempting stereo speakers FROM THE USB-C port. I was skeptical about that at first but when I heard it from a Youtube video, it didn't sound half bad. Better than LG whom DIDN'T include it on the V40 (which is going to bite them back in sales. Just watch).

Main issues with it is the lack of headphone jack, reverse wireless charging is a tad gimmickly except for MAYBE the wireless Bluetooth headsets that they sell, and the price tag. The fact that the 6GB RAM version is $1,000 is a tough pill to swallow alongside the 8GB RAM version that's even worse. It's a monster phone but some things keep me from wanting the phone.

                                  Huawei Mate 20X
This version seems to touch the right bases for me. It has the Camera, OLED, and stereo speakers of the Mate 20 Pro with the headphone jack (that plays back 32-bit audio baby!), bigger screen (in a way), and cheaper pricing of the Mate 20. But what's great is that the Stereo Speakers are BETTER than the Pro because it has a dedicated speaker grille next to the USB-C port instead of behind it, it has the better 5,000 mAH battery (the BEST part), and it has the 1080p OLED bigger-than-the-other-3-phones screen which makes the battery endurance the king out of the others.

My ONLY issues with this phone in particular is I would rather have the 2K display (I understand why 1080p is preferred but my eyes can definitely distinguish the 2) but I digress. Also, it is odd to advertise a pen only to make it 100% optional and not even have the slot on the phone itself. Otherwise, the specs sheet with price of this phone definitely tops that of the other 3 phones.

I know what you're thinking: "But it only has a measly IP53 rating". A. at least it HAS a rating. B. you should not be swimming with this phone. It's asinine to be near any form of water with your phone. Otherwise, I'm positive there will be one of those metal cases that heavily protect the phone from those elements and that can be your solution but I don't really care about IP rating. I'm pretty glad it just has one while retaining the headphone jack.

                                  Mate 20
I'd avoid this phone. For $800, all you're getting is the better processor, less-intrusive notch, and headphone jack but compared to the P20 Pro, you're better off going with the P20 Pro. The Mate 20 Pro has a worse camera (albeit with a wide-angle one vs monochrome), same battery as the P20 pro, no stereo speakers (who thought THAT was a good idea?), IP53 (compared to the P20 Pro's IP67), and LCD (to which the P20 Pro as AMOLED for better battery endurance; despite the older processor). If you DESPERATELY hate the wider notch and want the headphone jack, fine, go for it but you're better off shelling out $100+ more to get the 20X for the bigger battery, better camera, and stereo speakers.

The main cons for these phones are simple: they needed more LTE bands (we're talking 25, 41 [which has been in every Huawei model up until this point], and 66). I get that the U.S. Government basically stained their relationship with Huawei but that's only the government that are too old to operate any form of tech; let along also getting paid by Apple and Google to prevent the better phones from coming here since the Mate 10 Pro was such a hot seller here. Most of us users in the US that are smart enough to install a VPN along with installing an anti-virus on the phones will block anything from coming through (despite me kind of leaning towards not believing the US government about Huawei 'spying on us').

Another con is the NM card. Such a rough way to get this onto the market without checking with other phone companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, or Vivo to see if they were willing to adopt this new trend as an option with their Dual-SIM devices. The only way I can see the NM card doing alright is if they throw in a 50%-75% discount on the cards while purchasing any of the Mate 20 phones. That would not bother me much.

Either way, these phones are lethal and we will see how successful they shall be in the World Market.

You do not have to by Bluetooth headphones :) and whoever is a huge audiophile should own a portable music player with a proper DAC.
