Except battery endurance ( because of 1080p) and the 40 MP, the P20 Pro is worse than flagships from 2017.
When you talk about media consumption experience people will never think of Huawei phones. Their phones are far of making top 5 brands when it comes to audio and image.
Kirin 970 is weaker than SD835 and A11. GPU is lame..
Video skills are worse than midranges from other brands. Lowest bitrate among all brands, no EIS to use with 4K.
Selfie cam is even worse.
Except for having better camera hardware, P20 series has no advantage over Mate 10 series.

If you slide your finger all over the phone you will barely feel it. P20 Pro style is ugly. It must be almost 2 mm which is ridiculously disgusting.

If it had regular micro SD, any card from any brand could be used. Now only this one works.
OEMs for example get paid for the bloatware (non-google, non- UI apps)

Some people spends more than 5000 mAh /day.
If you live in a hot city, battery has weaker endurance..
If you WiFi /mobile data signal is not that good, battery drains faster.
On colder days, my battery lasts almost 30% more.
I know people that no longer use computers, they use phones for reading news, listen to online music/pod asks, messages, video calls, payment, bank account management, YouTube, Netflix, camera.
My phone is 5.2" 1080p, on YouTube I see different on how much battery is spent if I choose 1080p instead of 720p.

NM card still better than no memory like iPhone, but why Huawei promote it NM card instead of use a common micro sd card.
The camera lens design is awful and it is protruded, if you want put in more and more camera lens please make it smaller as much as you can, otherwise the big block of camera modules will occupy the back cover.
The wireless reverse charge is a gimmick unless it has atleast 10000mAh otherwise it will only for transfer the current for minimum benefits.
The M pen looks nice better than tiny Spen, however have to bring it separately.

Headphone jacks never was problem it was greedy manufactures who want to sell their idiotic BT headphone to customers.
how much battery we get by removing the 3.5 jack? and how much the BT headphones are using our phone juice?
It is simple math if you can't understand it just by a new brain to replace the non-brain of yours.

Such shame, the mate series was Huawei's best ever chance to lure me.
But they really struggled to find a way to waste it.
Obviously its very important for them to attract iOS users, but iOS users dont love iphones because of the notches, so adopting the notch just to lure them was stupid and also put away the rest that hate it!
Other cheap Chinese copy iphones take pride of looking like a poor man's iphone, but a flagship at the price of those iPhones, shouldnt! The worst part of the notch is the huge chin, obviously they were not able to have Apple small bezels and the Mate pro has double the chin of Mate 20, like every other cheap Chinese phone.
And is it was proved, 3D unlock is not a secured as they wished, so the only purpose the notch serves is iphonex resemblance...
The mate X and Mate 20 designs are great, non i-monkeys, but X is too big and the other too compromised... (no amoled for a 800$ phone?, but with amoled it would have been a valid alternative and they dont want that)
Then the inscreen fingerprint gimmick, why have it when you have that big ugly iphone notch to use 3d face unlock instead?
So wasteful, what a stupid idea... they should have one option with 3d face unlock and notch and one other with teardrop and glassfingerprint scanner.
This gimmick is less practical than back cheap scanner, its the culprit for the premium price and big lower chin and is canceled by the 3d face unlock.
And lastly the nano sd card slot. Greediness at its worse, they could make a normal hybrid slot, and a nano hybrid slot, meaning, one with nanosim+nanosd and one with nanosim+microsd. So all the options would be available, we could use our micro sd and our nano sim and when nano sd becomes cheaper, we simply change slots.
but they chose not to, they want us go pay premium because it goes to their pockets...

Actually, the kirin 980 is more powerfull in gpu than the snapdragon 845 - tha hands on benchmarks confirm it.

I ordered mine on its releasee, best phone in the world right now, its price is justified by the tech and the freebies thrown in, yes it has a few flaws but these are minor and i can live with those, the nano sd idea is stupid but they do throw in 128gb storage, the selfie camera i couldnt care less for, but camera on the p20 pro wasnt bad at all, the notch can be hidden so no deal breaker, aside from that this is a great device, for £899 in the uk you get a free case, a huawei watch GT and a 15w wireless charger free....bargain
