And shockingly poor audio recording. Seriously, seen numerous reviews, and the audio in video recording is dire.

Wasnt it a nice world a few years ago, when you could unlock most good phones bootloader, root them and have usually quite a large variety of decent roms to take your pick from to flash...

Only reason didnt buy this year was for size and all the lollipop colours shiny backs. if they did a matt finish to the glass or metal id be back in a flash. Anyway hope Pixel is just a software update is all. they look great.

Some people blaming HTC yeah right whatever, I am afraid you need to look at Google as the problem, nothing wrong with HTC highenders good phone with none of these issues these stupid Pixel phones have.
Google can stick there phones and OS.

Whackcar, 22 Oct 2018Stock Android is overrated. It only performs better than sk... moreAgree completely. Stock Android is painfully restrictive, crippling and inconvenient. Whatever performance gains it claims to have is negated anyway because of full screen ads pushed by third party apps. Apps you wouldn't need in an OEM skinned UI because they'd have them in built. Besides Pixels and Android One phones don't get more than two OS updates. Most Android Ones still haven't got Pie. I do hope evangelists of stock Android at least try other ROMs before prostrating their money in front of premium stock Android hardware.

Yasser, 22 Oct 2018It's more of an HTC thing than a Google one. I don't think ... moreThe Pixel failures are all on Google. It has barely anything to do with HTC. Have you seen HTC phones? HTC 10, U11, U12+? Great looking phones with great specs, great cameras & little to no issues.
Google has always focused on making the Pixels like iPhones, which is why they look dated, have lesser specs than others, and adopt all the infamous traits of the iPhones (removal of headphone jack, addition of notch, etc).
The only way Google can improve their smartphone scene is if they stop following Apple & start from scratch!

It only performs better than skinned Android when running on low-end or mid-range hardware. On flagship phones, it's performance benefits are minimal. On skinned Android, you usually get far more features and don't have to rely on third party apps for those features. For example the Samsung & Huawei skins provide tons of additional features on top of stock Android, which IMO makes them far more useful than running a slightly more smoother UI (which can mostly be achieved by installing a custom launcher on the phone)

The Pixel 3s are the worst flagship phones of the year by far. They're just terrible in every aspect. Specs, design, value for money, all below-average.

Product Engineering of premium products involving hardware integration requires long learning curve..... But these issues are pretty minor could have been avoided

In case of Samsung phone last only as long as your warranty.
Know from many of my customer experiences.
In case of apple with every new update phone doesnt work at all or partially.
An d after 1-2 major updates it will get slow down by apple.
