I am currently having honor 8 and I've never seen a lag in ui. Also suprisingly security patch is updated till August. And its been guaranteed that honor 8 will be updated to Oreo which is pretty big deal for Huawei phones let alone for honor series. Whenever Huawei releases it's flagship phones they release it with up to date Android version. That's why I switched from Samsung to Huawei.

Pixel is very popular due to vanila Android and excellent camera(s). The other parts like display and speakers are average.

[deleted post]I disagree with his comments frequently, but I'm not sure the Pixel 3 devices are as great as you suggest. I've looked at numerous comparisons, and the Pixels are no longer as far ahead as they were. And, their video audio is probably this year's worst, for a £900 device. I don't know for sure, but it is probably mono too. Have you heard samples? They are poor sounding. The bit rate on their audio is below par. For still shots, the cameras do well. Although I have notice loss of details in shadows. The telephoto solution is great for a single camera, but is miles behind when compared to a dedicated tele lens. A great achievement for a single lens, but the real ones beat it. The Pixels do have the best selfie cameras though, way ahead at times.

As for the RAM, the device likely has some fixable issue, but 6GB would have made it less of an issue, and improved the user experience in the future. As for battery, well, every review calls it average, at best. Which is poor English, as they mean low. Average at this end is nearer 4000mA, not 3400mA. Even 3700mA would have made it a non issue, but to have reduced the size is a false economy. If the 3 had a a 3200mA battery, you have a pretty good device.

The price does not reflect the hardware on offer. They are over priced.

The notch, doesn't bother me. And, I am likely to end up with a 3XL.

Pixel 3 XL lost by a full minute to the iPhone XS Max.

None of this changes my mind. What changed my mind is the smaller Pixel 3 is still too big and the back scratches very easily. I want something iPhone 7/Xperia XZ2 Compact size. I'll wait for the XZ3C and hope it's thinner, plastic back, and about $500 after a few months.

I'm totally content with my current devices although batteries will degrade over time. Adding a Pixel 4 or Xperia Compact should be my next move.

The pixel 2 beta keeps showing up? Pff.

But it's simply not the case. Their OS is still heavy and unoptimized for smooth and fast performance. There are times, when it all seems like it's great, like the first few months, but eventually it starts slowing down more and more. That's the case with almost any phone that I've had, but it's the most apparent on Samsung devices.

It's not bad, many people would probably not notice it that much, but if you're the kind of person who is a smartphone enthusiast, and are into peak performance with smooth animations and optimized system, both visually and functionally, I don't think a Samsung phone can fully satisfy those needs. It's just too much of a bog to do that.

At this point, I'm not even sure if Google is not deliberately doing all of this, as a publicity stunt to get more attention. After all today almost all publicity is good publicity, unless it's the kind of publicity that takes you out of business. Google is doing just fine.

Some people say stock android is buttery smooth compared to some android skins such as Samsung u , emui, miui etc. I have used emui, miui, Samsung ux and I haven't noticed any stuttering or lagging on a daily basis. They provide many features which are very useful for many. Stock android doesn't provide any such features. Only advantage of stock android is they get updates timely. Who cares about Android updates. Security updates are the important ones that we should care about.

Dr. Chillo, 22 Oct 2018Oh no please ffs google, why not 6GB RaM and why not passin... moreIt must be really hard to be a relatively small player in the hardware area, and get a good set of high end hardware components from competitors for a good price.
I think there are a lot of companies who would gladly work with Google, and give them a nice deal, but Google is late to the game, they've gone to companies left and right, and to probably get a reliable and best performing RAM they had to go with Samsung.

And most likely price for 6GB+ was a lot more expensive compared to 4GB, as it's very demanded. It's probably better that Google went with 4GB Samsung RAM than some other Chinese manufacturer with possible unreliable performance and 8GB. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong, and both Samsung and Google is playing everyone.

Also see the blue shift on the screen on some reviews. But all the reviewers love it. I'd buy an iPhone before I'd buy this hunk of junk. Keep your day job Google.

[deleted post]Edit: The post i replied to has been deleted, quite rightfully so.

Good job mods! Keep it up!

Oh I can remember you could use an iPhone 6 as boomerang, CPU throttling? Clicking speaker? Not responsive home Button iPhone 7? Not responsive screen? Not charging iPhone Xs ? Wanna talk about price and only 1 year guarantee and no fast charging and crazy inappropriate expensive stuff like fast charging or most horrible customer service ever? Or wanna start talking about 3dollar paumement to Chinese workers and using most horrible components in their devices?
One cool guy listed already some of other problems and I did list the problems, those I had with my iPhones or I saw them with my own eyes.
I believe it’s enough for you. This list could be 5 pages if I wanted to list everything, I thin you learned your leason.

alski10, 22 Oct 2018Huh ? Iphones dont have nearly as many issues as the pixels... moreYeah Right,

iphones don't have as much problems:

non responsive screen in cold weather,
                                problems with charging
                                problems with wifi
                                problems with bluettooth
HDMI adapter makes touchscreen register wrong imput.
Bug that gets you back to lockscreen.

and yes i had them all.

with android (huawei and honor 9) never any bugs or problems...never
maybe better to buy a cheaper Phone and a compact camera seperate

Oh no please ffs google, why not 6GB RaM and why not passing your phones to a real phone maker and not HTC???
Same issues as last year is just kind of embarrassing, I though only Apple is horrible to fix issues of their devices, seems like google is joining Apple.
