Shui8, 23 Oct 2018I do understood, its just the 'cheap' definition he made ar... morethat's really unnecessary to make another issue, it's the reason why people in the internet are constantly being criticized by many people from different age categories, small issues becoming bigger or getting to another issue, wew

Since Nano SD card is not an innovation from SD association, i don't want it to become successful. I don't trust Huawei enough, they may start taking royalties in the future and that would only make it costlier. Besides it's not much of an improvement imo, these are already so small that managing them is already painful.

Huawei removed Monochrome sensor cuz they finally understood that it didn't have much of an impact on overall quality of a picture. They just don't want to accept that their past choices were wrong. We won't be seeing monochrome sensors from them anytime soon.

Huawei converted me and then lost me, all within 2 phone generations. Copycatting the competition's pointless features (face unlock, curved displays, hyper-long aspect ratios, notches, etc), monstrously jacking up prices to "compete" with Apple and Samsung, and brazenly creating a proprietary memory card format to greedily bilk a few more dollars from its customers... yeah. Thanks but no thanks, Huawei.

Oh, and their complete abandonment of the most coveted smartphone market in the world means the U.S. government was likely correct in its suspicion that Huawei is in cahoots with the Chinese government and is using its devices and equipment to spy on countries where its wares are sold (FYI: this suspicion started in the Obama administration, so Trump has nothing to do with it).

Mostly BS and marketing talk. Nano SD card isn't even a standard by SD Card Association. No reason to make Pro screen curved as most people like flat screen. X's OLED at 1080p is also too low resolution

AnonD-558092, 23 Oct 2018You can't possibly believe that the IP cert is expensive en... moreOf course its not only the ip rating makes it more expensive dude. Curved OLED screen, 3d face scanner, bigger camera sensor (that alone makes it the big difference in pricing), integrated bigger speaker built in usb-c, a bit bigger battery, 40w Supercharge included, Phone to phone charging feature, etc.

Again, the point is the interviewer only ask about ip rating, so he just answer it accordingly & lower ip rating is just one of the aspects.

And while we are on the topic of charging, I would like to remind you we provide more value to the consumer in this respect - we provide the 40W fast charger in the box. Compare that to the 5W charger Apple is providing.
desperately criticizing apple, can you just be more competitive by providing quality products?

No, it's not the difference between 800 and 900$. Or 900 and 1000$. No, a lower IP rating does not make it cheaper. However advertising an IP rating means you are ready to assume the responsibility of the IP rating, which means that you are liable for any incident that is tied with this IP. Having a lower IP makes you less liable. They just don't want to assume their production yields. THAT is being cheap

He just answer it according to question asked.

dude111, 23 Oct 2018"Yes, you can see this (Mate 20 X) is a better experience t... moreExcept no other phones don't have all of:
                          -a custom game controller
                          -5000mAh battery
                          -large bezelless display
                          -flagship processor
                          in one package.

With that said I don't like the whole idea of "gaming smartphone" to be completely honest with you. Game library for Android isn't as good as what you can find on Nintendo platform or even iOS.

I'm sure no OEM will make nano memory card. Besides in the android world Huawei is just another brand. There's a lot OEM out there that will jut use the regular sd card for cost saving.

2- Again, device not on sale! You can't judge what isn't available! You don't know the quality of the 4 sensors. Neither does he.

3- By your logic, I should not care at all about what happens if it doesn't directly affects me. Yeesh. Selfish people. So if there are murders, inhuman treatments, kidnappings... I shouldn't care? Eh, you are right. Many people don't care their products are made by humans in inhuman conditions and they gladly spend 1K$ on it. Many don't care their clothes are slowly killing those that made them, because they are at the other side of the word. Many don't care their counterfeit items are financing child labour, illicit activities, terrorism and much more. They only care about what they get. Not what comes with it.

It's not because he makes more $ than I do that he's not cheap. And no, it's not the lower IP certification that will make a significant change in the pricing. It doesn't cost 100$/device. Not 10. Not 1$. This is just being cheap to avoid consumers using their rights.
Complaining suits my name perfectly. What this CEO made here is not professional. That was an ad more than anything, not an interview.

Its just that people, hell even this guy fromHuawei itself, is criticizing apple for been cheap with some components (the screen on the XR or the charger) while asking for a lot of money. And the mate X cost 900 euros, thats A LOT of money for just IP53. You cant have double standards.
