Amy, 25 Oct 2018Still hating the chin, currently waiting for a smartphone w... moreBlame two things. Chunky Display connectors from the edge and Apple's patent.

Apple patented and used the first and the most viable way to remove the chin for the iPhone X and XS series. It involves bending an OLED display inward. OLED of many kinds are known to be flexible whereas LCD coming from the term, Liquid Crystal can't bend.

Android companies has to find another way to make it all-screen without paying Apple to let them do that so for now, they'll never bend an OLED screen or face consequences.

Apurv Anand, 25 Oct 2018Are you sure about this stat? I would doubt that. Plus fron... moreWhat stat? It's not a stat, it's a fact. If the front camera is quintessential for you, that doesn't mean it is for me, or others. I've never used the front camera, i know people who never used it, and we would be quite happy with a phone without a front camera and without a notch.
If that's "living under a rock", then be it, but it's still a fact.

Still hating the chin, currently waiting for a smartphone with no chin at all.

forget about in display selfie cam it not gonna happen anytime soon...it is either bezel or notch or slider mechanism so take your pick.

Ghostwolf87, 25 Oct 2018Uglier than a notch, either wide or teardrop, and good luck... moreYou realise it isn't an actual hole in the screen right? It's just a cut-out in the display so the camera can come through, it'll still sit under the glass like normal.

Ghostwolf87, 25 Oct 2018Uglier than a notch, either wide or teardrop, and good luck... moreMeh, I think they might just turn on an AMOLED bezel by default. plus, I'd rather reserve my judgement for now

Uglier than a notch, either wide or teardrop, and good luck keeping things like lint and dirt out of it.

Everyone going to keep some Qtips with you so you can clean it before every selfie?

Brilliant Samsung, you figured out a way to screw up your phones again, just appease some whiners who think a notch on their phone is the end of their existence.

Galaxy A8s is launched twice this year???

I'm digging the side hole. If it's in the centre, it'll be no different from tear drop notch.
I think Samsung is planning to go for transparent display but in the meantime they will go with this. It's a better implementation IMO. Personally i'm not a fan of sliders, they are prone to break easily.

                        Looks great

I agree that we may not need the dual front camera, but the FRONT CAMERA IS QUINTESSENTIAL. Period

When people said that they wanted bezelless, they didn't means to have bezels inside the screen, the camera shouldn't be inside the screen whether notch, drop or hole.
Either make it slide or make a little bezels above the screen, don't destroy the rectangular shape.

Gotta slow down those old phones so people flock on this one.

Ooops. Got caught red handed like fruit company. Sorry.

I prefer notch in the middle. Or at least this hole should be in the middle.

If this hole will be visible for all the time than it is another notch implementation for me. I would prefer slider or even a upper bar than anything that can hide you a part of the screen. How will you read books? I believe you must guess the word if it hides for you. It all goes in some stupid way.... just stu..O..id.
