If executed properly, this approach could mark the end of the notch era and usher on a revolution. And if it works, i hope to bejeezus they perfect the tech enough for the note10 to sport it flawlessly. Oh please let it be so!

Even though i hate notches but oppo's waterdrop notch and this screen hole are actually not really a problem to me. But I'm still waiting for OEMs to remove any notches to make a symetrical true bezeless design without motorized parts.

I dont mind the corner hole. It wont interrupt content much like videos. Thats where the tv logo usually are anyway. Same goes for youtube videos. Hope they can do the promised under display camera soon.

This may be a pre-cursor to their alleged under display sensors. Just trying waters before bringing the real thing, which may happen in late 2019 or early 2020 flagships. Note10/S11 may be the phones that kills the notches finally.

I prefer that hole at side than middle of screen.If in middle,for me it would be nothing than notch.

Just darken a strip of pixels at the top that reaches the bottom of the camera hole. It's no different than hiding a notch, except the strip will probably be smaller than what's needed for notches.

You'd hopefully get the option to black out all of the screen in line with the hole, the same as with most notch designs.
