LLL, 26 Oct 2018"lifelike accurate color cameras" Curiously, which phone... moreDefinitely not samsungs as its a long way from lifelike. There are other that make much better in this department.
Even cameras from old lumia phones are much better in this regard than what samsung and huawei have provided so far.

Cameras and screens that are as close to lifelike as possible are what we need. And currently samsung and most other providers nowadays are far from that. At least apple managed to calibrate samsungs displays to make them closest to lifelike. Apart from them there might be one or two others who try doing the right thing in color reproduction, but the rest just go for “popping” colors.

Nobody, 25 Oct 2018If you read dxomark tests, you can see that they give score... moreWrong. If colors are oversaturated theres less details available in them, so toning them down wont make the picture look like a picture with normal colors. It will have much less details visible. For example if you take a photo of an apple in good lighting conditions with a samsung you will see the apple much more red and saturated than it is in reality. And if you tone the colors down in that picture and compare it to one from a camera with lifelike colors, you will see that the toned down picture shows just some mushy red color on the apple while the one with lifelike colors shows all the different shades of red, spots, tonalities and texture details. Its kinda like the difference of someones selfie with and without beauty filters. You cant add pores and skin details on the beauty filter picture afterwards.

Always go for lifelike accurate color cameras instead of anything else. Samsung phone cameras are bad.

You can always tone down colors afterwards if it is to saturated, you can't make the picture show more details.

What they don't test for is colour accuracy and actual photo aesthetic, highlight & shadow details, etc. Their choosing of say Samsung to be in the top 30 best cameras just says a lot about their scoring. That's because Samsung's colours are far from being true to life and their photos look entirely weird compared to taking the same photos with a dSLR.

Cameras should be first and foremost tested on how true-to-life their photos are. And people's subjective preferences on overly saturated colours and shifted colours should not be taken into account at all. Those people are not capable of expressing anything else apart from saying 'they like the colours more'.
That's exactly why you can't trust the general, average people on judging how good a display is, when they tell you Samsung phones' displays look better than others. (i.e. they are more saturated than what true-to-life looks like)

People should start to ignore the overall score and pay more attention to the sub-scores. They do tell the real story. For example, wanna check dynamic range?? Look at "Exposure" score.

People get mad when their favourite brand does not make #1 but don't even care to read what they say.

My phone was tested few years ago what they stated is exactly what can be seen. Slow AF for video, strong corner softness on the right side , strong blue sky in good lighting , high DR.

Now if you prefer to listen to youtubers it's your choice. Don't forget the fact you have no ways to know if they did not mess with settings to make A looks better or worse than B.
Many say good stuff about some brands to keep getting devices earlier, also gifts..

People say Dxo doesn't know photography but all phones they say it's #1 everyone follows. Like Pixel 1, Pixel 2 and P20 Pro.

YouTubers want views, they will always say iPhone and Galaxy are better because are the best sellers. Even if another brand brings better devices 87

Mi Note 3 takes better photos than iphone 7 plus (88), but worse than 8 plus (94), and dxo scores it in between them, which is accurate, only I feel it's closer to 8 than 7, at least in low light where camera differences typically matters most - are most visible.
