Daylight photos are not really a challenge for any camera sensor, result is more down to processing. The callenge starts when light goes dim and there's where the P20 pro beats pretty much everyone.

Apparantly they didn't have a finalized camera software in good time before launch for the Mate 20 Pro, hence no review yet on dxo. Either that or they just don't care since it's an improvement over the P20 pro and that still holds the top spot.

It's funny how some people are programmed. When a expensive westernly widespread name brand does well, the of course it's deservant. When a lesser known brand (to westerners) at a more affordable price does equally well, or better, then surely bribing/corruption must be involved.

I had Mi Note 3 previously, which have 93 DxO marks. I bought it just because of that. The truth is this phone makes average photos, way behind the leaders. I don't know if Xiaomi paid for the test or not. I don't trust DxO tests anymore.

if you see dxo test on launch day its always high score because oem paid them few months ago to test their camera and tune it to perform better on their tests after some trials they managed to make it good and post it as great result :)
thing is specific tests like dxo are not very reliable in real world usage
their test are great for dslrs shooting raws but not comparable for smartphones since everyone use mostly software processing not the sensor which is too small to be usable
you can see the best p20 pro having hard time against iphone 6 in daylight photos

ZloiYuri, 25 Oct 2018This could be a good phone, but slider construction means i... moreThere were tons of Japanese slide phones that had water/dust resistance, so just by having a slider doesn't mean it lacks durability.

ZloiYuri, 25 Oct 2018So what? Motorized or not - dust and water will easily get ... moreThere will always be people that worry about everything and nothing. Sliders work great and are no concern to use.

But by all means, you know yourself best. If you know you always have crap, sand etc in your pockets and frequently find yourself in sandstorms then this phone is not for you. Better get a "tough phone" of sorts.

There are so many phones coming out throughout a year, not all have to suit your particular needs. That would actually suck, as pretty much all phones would be identical. They're already similar enough.

This phone is already destroying the gimmicky huawei offerings it's not even funny.

AnonD-632062, 25 Oct 2018So the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 gets an excellent score, seconds aft... moreyeah, and not to mention that reviewers often seem to get their hand on devices before launch and can post about it immediately after launch. . .

This is completely normal, companies send out devices to key parties long before we can buy them and even before officially announcing them. Some of these come with leaks, despite not being allowed to.

As to why LG has decided to not care about camera performance anymore, better to ask them. Not blame others that go all in after having figured out something obvious, people really demand the best camera they can afford in a smartphone.

Even though DxOMark stated that they never received $$$ from brand manufacturers previously, I still doubt it, because who will stupidly tell to the world that they rate the smartphones by the amount of money one brand manufacturer bribed them to do, which will make them lose their business and make them a unreliable source in technology?

This could be a good phone, but slider construction means it will not last longer that year. Dust or even light rain will kill it.

I cant understand this site origins or where it makes news. As mostly news about Indian and Chinese and then some for EU and US. But in some part dont talk at all. There are more Chinese phones that do there own thing but name of a site like GSM arena dont talk about them and dont have there names in the list of all brands.

AnonD-632062, 25 Oct 2018So the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 gets an excellent score, seconds aft... moreIt's because some manufacturers send their phones to Dxomark for testing before the phone's official launch.

Some phones get reviewed on launch too, it doesn't mean they're paid reviews. It just means the manufacturer sent the device early to the reviewer and asked for the review to get published on the launch date. This has happened many times on Gsmarena as well.

So the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 gets an excellent score, seconds after it was unveiled. Even the official article about it's launch hasn't been published here yet.

Notice the trend where DxO publishes excellent scores for phones, right after they are unveiled. Hmmm, something fishy, right? *Cough* $$$$$ *Cough*

But on the other hand, phones like LG G7 get their score published after many months and it turns out to be a low score. "I wonder why?" https://www.gsmarena.com/dxomark_gives_the_lg_g7_thinq_just_a_touch_better_score_than_the_lg_v30-news-33803.php
