regarding your comparison between LCD and Amoled, what about Iphone XS and XS Max?
its Super Amoled with 1242 x 2688 resolution, a little higher than 1080p... this is also included in your comparison? if it was.... then you should convince people not to buy the XS and XS Max coz of crap pentile display as you described it.

Happily people prefer quality, so they do prefer the better hardware in the market. Apple unlike Samsung or Sony tries to sell through putting the best tech possible. The aforementioned companies try to sell through their name alone, because their hardware is garbage really.

g... moreNo, I think you should be the one that should check his brain. Amoled screens only have 2/3rds of the subpixel density as an RGB screen. Due to how they tile their subpixles does help a bit with clarity but not a whole lot.
So a 1080p amoled screen is as dense as a 720p LCD screen. But due to to the subpixle tiling it looks a bit better than that. Say 800p at best.
So those amoled phones have lower actual resolution but you've been linked by how those display makers call a pixel to be (made of 2 not 3 subpixels). Which is why the XR screen shows no tiling and gives you more clear screen than a 1080p amoled.

I honestly hope they don't sell at all. Same about other 2 models.
They made it so much worse on purpose, so people react by thinking "If I'll pay around 800 dollars for this, I can aswell add another 200 and get myself the XS which is actually a good phone". So they sabotaged the "threat" to their flagships.
While iOS is really nice, smooth and fluid, not to mention safe - Apple's pricing is ridiculous. I could afford a new iPhone XS, but I don't want to. I don't want new Samsung flagship either (until they remove Bixby) or Huawei until they actually design something well... when my iPhone dies or goes out of support I'll get myself a Xiaomi, because I don't see Samsung ditching Bixby and at least I will get value for the money.

It's incredible how Apple keeps innovating, and there isn't a single company around yet that can produce a clearly better phone all-round. At most, they can get a single feature better here or there.
I'm just so surprised why even Google can't just create some insane flagship (price it whatever they want), just to embarrass Apple. Can no one really do anything?
