Got me interested. I took a look at the tech specs of C930.
322 x 227 x 14.5 mm (at its thinnest) / 12.7 x 8.9 x 0.57” (at its thinnest) vs Macbook Air
304 x 212 x 15.6mm..
I was like WOW C930 is soo thin! I am shitting my pants! I double checked.. then realise.. "at its thinnest" I was like ROFL. Macbook Air thinnest is 0.41 cm... lol. thats 4.1mm...
Based on the CPU specs, its better comparison is with Macbook Pros. The battery life is of the tier of Macbook Pros although MBP have better graphics and higher clock speed. Air has much more battery life. And no need to crank down to FHD for 14hrs claim.
That places C930 proposed performance between MBA / MBP 13 inch.. but its a fatty.. compared to MBA / MBP. Maybe because it need to cram in a pen and touchy screen?
I don't care about Windows machines.. year after year they try to create the next "Macbook Killer"... comes with thousand of naming.. each year different naming CX3940394 ZX34394 XY3940394.
Because, by the end of the day. Once i decided to upgrade my Mac, i just go Apple store, buy the latest with a bigger storage. Go home, connect to time machine. Restore, done.. my system / data is all transferred. And all good to go.
If i want to go Windows way.. i have to scratch my head... scan tons of PCs.. make sure it has the specs i want.. pen / intelli scan / .. all the eye candy features i need.. Oh .. and make sure the vendor sells it.. WAIT 1 month to have it delivered. Then the hell to transfer all my software over.. license, installation blah blah blah .. omg. If i have to pay $500 more with similar specs, i won't mind.

Today there are many Windows laptops that have just as good build quality as Apples MacBooks, but cost far less with better specs!

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2018Are you seriously comparing these two different machines in... moreLenovo Yoga C930 has a very good screen 13,9" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS-toch-screen with Dolby Vision, it's not "dark" but more than bright enough, it has NO motion trails, 100 percent of the sRGB colour gamut, force touch trackpad is pointless and I never ever press the trackpad because gestures and "tap" with one or multiple fingers is all that is needed, C930 have individually backlit keys, sound is far better than what most Apple laptops provide, the keys do NOT break easily, the webcam is very good 720p, has NO overheating problems does not get warm at all and is very quiet. The design is very god, with speakers in the hinge and a stylus that slides into a pen slot in the rear of the laptop...!
You are clearly not talking about Lenovo Yoga C930, it has recently been released!

That Lenovo has a bad screen, it's dark, it has motion trails, only displays a limited colour gamut in the line of medium range laptops, has a mechanical trackpad instead of force touch, does not have individually backlit keys, sound is not comparable to what Apple laptops provide, the keys break easily, the webcam shows a ton of noise making it barely usable, has overheating problems, and so on. Not to mention it has a rather bad design.
But I agree about MacBook Air vs. MacBook Pro. Don't know why would anyone go for the Air, but it might be the perfect option to those who travel a lot and are looking for the smallest form factor.

So you actually can't currently buy any better performance in this small form factor.

Nice ultra elite price compared to no quck charge no suport for android phones or windows compatibility, low dosk space and medium specs packed ina lets say good laptop which has been killed even before the release lacking tons of usefull things.

But hey, you could get 10x the peformance at a lower price than this, if you build a desktop PC in an even bigger case.
It's all about size, weight, sturdiness, portability, while also getting good performance, good battery life, a great screen, design, sounds, all in one package.

Huge disappointment on the hardware specs to price ratio. Apple executives only business plan is to increase prices and on products with outdated and lower speced hardware. In short make the most profit for the year. It might me good for Apple in the short term but this type of thinking is not good for loyal customers.
In the old days buying a Mac was only a few dollars more expensive than buying a PC of similar specs. Now I feel weird and a disappointed to have supported and argued for Apple during the PC vs Mac days. For me time has come to move towards using Linux on good and dependable hardware,
