This is a good laptop. The price is not surprising, compared to the other Apple offerings.
dual thunderbolt 3 for egpu / dual displays for home gaming.
low powered core i5 for normal task outdoors.
Highest battery life of all MacBooks.
Able to equip 1.5TB / 16GB ram.
This is a worthy upgrade for a programmer / network admins or the simple student, Just good old plain keyboard / touchpad. Go away Artist, graphics designers and creative users.. no annoying Touch Bar, no pens, no crap. Go buy that iPad Pro "Computer".

this is the price the old new macbook air 13in came out with. it was even pricer for the original macbook air, and that one wasn't even good. so no it is not price bump, the macbook air got a price cut over the years, when they released the macbook and discontinued the 11in

Slow ram only 2133 MHz, compared to more modern 2400 MHz!
Too expensive for only 128 GB, while 256 GB is ridiculously far too expensive! But all Apple´s products are always far too expensive, that is what the brand "Apple" stands for "always too expensive for what you actually get"!

Those who saying you can better laptop at cheaper price, those are windows laptop. There are people who don't like windows 10.They prefer Mac over windows. Macbook air is for those people I guess.

student don't need that kind of spec if they just use as typing job , opening email , watching movies on the phone. they are student not a gamer :)
