FlexPai is the world's first foldable phone, first with Snapdragon 8150 too

"Phone" isn't the right word for it, the screen grows to 7.8" (4:3) when unfolded.

Cheap when it last for 2y contract.
How about 3months than freeze?

    who needs a foldable phone?
    heavier, thicker and worst quality.
There are already tablets if we want bigger displays. and phone are already large enough so we don't need tablets so many times.
This kinda of projects are DOA. Really don't know why spend money on this crap tech.
    Lg tried curved phones, failed.
    Curved Tvs, fail.
Now foldable phones? No ideas to innovate?

Ah crap, that sucks. Samsung is probably kinda sad that they weren't able to make the first one

Looking at the slideshow in the bottom picture we're dealing with a 'sanpdragon' processor; it might as well be a Chinese knock off... if this device is built with the same attention to detail I pass.

Tbh, i quite like this. It is bleeding edge tech. It has a manageable size of 4" when closed and big enough to watch movies when open. With the SD-8150 it should be fast enough. The 15mm thickness i dont mind at all as long as it has a huge battery, like 5000-6000mAh. I wish more phones would be like 11-12mm thick with that size of a battery and would go for a more radical design rather then blindly following the masses. The folded part, when closed, shouldnt be of concern as it can probably be turned off software wise.

What's the use of foldable phones

I'm interested in the new Snapdragon. So I'm waiting to see performance over continuous load. As a result, this phone is worth a look for the new SD alone. Since Apple's A12 didn't improve much over the A11, I want to see how close Qualcomm gets to the A12. Kirin 980 is within 1,000 points in multi-core loads of the A12, while Apple still has a sizable lead on single core. Let's just see what we get guys.

I feel like once Samsung find its way and the technology to the foldable phone, they will be a lot better than this tablet/ phone thing.......

Seems some dummy company backup by samsung otherwise from where it got foldable amoled display and latest sd processor .seems samsung like to check real life usability before commercial launch. Samsung already grabbed first slot of sd processor.

The screen will probably go all wonky after folding it 7 times...

The presentation says 800 tier Snapdragon... since when is an 8000 number in the 800 tier. If the name of the new Snapdragon is 8150 then it should say 8000 tier. Jumping to conclusions as usual.

Why would people want an fexible display in the first place? So it would be pocketable? Ughhh

lyndino, 31 Oct 2018I knew I wouldn't like the foldable phone. Didn't like it w... moreWell this is more or less a concept phone, which they've decided to sell to get the "first" status and earn some quick dough in the process, so it was bound to look ugly just like most of concept devices.

I think the first commercial foldable phone would look significantly better than this, especially if it comes from a serious brand like Samsung/Huawei.

Samsung is supposed to launch it's first foldable phone this year, so perhaps we'll get our answer sooner rather than later.

Yet, 200.000 times folded is chinese mensured, like, you get the real number if you divide by 3, like 65.000 times i belive is more plausible.

and, this wont work like people want, 4:3 in a 16:9 or even 18:9 world is a no go those days.

even using SD8150, this device will not have so much hype, and wont sell, just a prototype-like phone to youtubers have something to do. meh

What actually is this... this looks awful. Why would I want to carry a massive 15mm thick phone in my pocket, then when it's folded out it has a weird concertina thing in the middle... ¿¿¿

I knew I wouldn't like the foldable phone. Didn't like it when it was mentioned years ago and it still looks retarded.
People don't like the edge screen due to accidental touches and distortion.... this makes the edge screen look stellar.

I don't think they care about the sale though tbh. They know what they're getting into. They know they won't sell many at all, especially if the price is high which it may possibly be. Wouldn't surprise me if they limited the stock to a very low level as well. This is early days and the first foldable phone. Within a couple years the progression from this will increase heavily, and keep going from then on. This is merely a tease of what's to come.
