Apple's financial report reveals flat iPhone sales, but strong increase in ASP

What's vr got to do with anything. Vr is rubbish on mobile phones regardless of resolution. Maybe in few years when technology improves.
One of best things to look for when spotting pixels is fonts. And different coloured background wallpaper. For a mobile phone even 720p is a very good screen. Watching a bluray on a large tv screen on 720p is still a quality screen and on a tiny mobile screen it's clearer

    One question, does the XR support VR?
    That should settle it.

      It isn't a 320p screen where u notice pixels. I work in phoneshop. We got xr on display and I had a check and it's crystal clear when close up.
      A mobile phone is big enough even for a half HD screen but if we talk about a TV then that's another story

But, at that pricetag you expect better resolution, I had it in my hand and could see pixels without even getting it that close to my eyes.
                    At least if it has low resolution screen you would expect great camera. While camera is good, there is no secondary camera at this price tag...

Both look great, just like the video shows. There's lot more important things about the screen than resolution and that's why everyone in the video chose XR "low" res screen.

                        When you move the phone closer to your eyes - you will be able to see individual pixels on XR much sooner than on XS or any Android flagship.
                        Not to mention camera quality and/or versality that XR haves (or better say does not have).
                        Throttle because of battery.
                        Not to get me wrong I do like both, Apple and iOS, but what is right is right, and I will not defend Apple on anything that they do.

                            Anonymous, 02 Nov 2018I think that boils down to releasing the 8 alongside the X.... moreThe iPhone XR isn't competitive at all. Only advantage it has is A12 chipset and iOS. Similar priced Huawei and Samsung destroy XR on every possible area.
                            Screen (XR screen has shamefully low resolution for the price)
                            Camera (I don't even need to talk here)
                            Battery (not to mention iPhone battery degrade kinda fast, and you will either have throttle or device shutting down on you)
                            Samsung even has features like SpO and heart rate sensor...
                            So they both stomp on XR hardware wise. XR is only bought by people who just want to have new iPhone or Apple logo on their phone.

Wait a few months when issues are uncovered and software updates have been released. Lesser wait on iphones obviously with their quick software updates. Longer waits on certain manufacturers though.
                                    Another option is if oems would release flagship phones every 2 years instead of 1 year. Then they have more time to make sure the quality is high and no bugs
