One was when I took a hockey puck to the face (right to the eye, luckily no permanent damage) and the other I scratched my eye on a tree branch while hiking.
Other than that it has worked everytime. Takes a little longer to register when I'm in a dark room but works everytime.

I tried it on my s9 few times, but I noticed its a battery hog. Minimal. But enough to make me turn it off and forget about it.

It was a stupid gimmick anyway, nobody used it (Well except poor iPhone users who didn't have a choice) and fingerprint is way more convenient.

But, let's hope they won't skip the 3.5mm. That's a feature still more than 50% of users need and use.

123, 02 Nov 2018samsung is slowing down... huawei is new king of androidNot a chance dude. Samsung is way to well established to be overthrown by a baby company such as Huawei. Maybe in 10 years, if that.

If the ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor is ready then removing the iris scanner is fine

i use an iphone, and im trying to move myself to samsung, atleast samsung is trying really hard to make their device better, so its good to give them a $$, unlike apple, will give their customer a new color and an ugly notch and robbed their customers $$, such an a****

The drive towards bezeless screen continues, and here we see the Iris Scanner probably going to be removed during the process. While the fingerprint sensor is overall the best unlocking method for users because of it having a balance in terms of speed and security, Iris Scanner is definitely way more secure than the fingerprint sensor, though u will have to wait a while to get to unlock your smartphone. Of course it can be used as a secondary unlocking method too, that will be more useful. Under-display fingerprint sensor is a welcome, be it under-display or in-display, it's a new technology, just don't give excuses saying that there isn't much space inside and in the end remove the 3.5mm headphone jack (come on, Jack died so many times in the smartphone world lmao). For 3D Face Scanning, if it's solely on the camera, you'll probably want to skip that for your unlocking method. But if there's a sensor for it, I might consider putting it as one of my unlocking method

Shanti Dope, 02 Nov 2018I do get where you are coming from, but those options are q... moreI agree that flagship phones have gotten too expensive these days, but they have also improved significantly since the last 5 years.

On the other hand, mid-rangers have gotten very powerful, so much in fact that they can compete with flagships in many areas.

My point is that good products are available in all price brackets. That is admirable. Let us hope that things will continue in this direction so that everyone can stay happy.

It's not like anyone used that gimmick anyways.
