[UPDATE] Huawei responds to the Mate 20 Pro's screen issues

Users call it #gluegate and the response isn't exactly satisfactory.

The problem is that other manufacturers use glue and stuff that doesn't match with the thin p-led LG panel design I guess.

        How can black color shift to green? that's hilarious!
        I would understand if grey shift to dark grey on the edges, but black to green? bruh.

            then wonder why this was such a great deal :))
            I'd rather pay more and get premium quality instead of just premium price for low - mid range quality and missing features.

              Huawei has learn how the make high end quality handsets now they just need the customer service to go with it. Bad parts can happen to anyone. It's up to Huawei on how to respond.

                Samsung made the initial batches of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max screens. LG has recently (as of September) been certified to be a backup supplier of screens for these models.

                  I thought it was just me going crazy! I noticed this on my Mate... while disappointing, I've already spoken to my network and when the Twilight colour is back in stock I'm getting a free replacement. So just speak to your carrier and get a swap or refund.

                    and this is why i wait a month after a phone release. since every phone seems to have issues the first month. and i get it for cheaper too.

                      for those who say that this is a "isolated problem", it s not fanboys, in xda a bunch of folks are reporting this problem, so please dont keep justifying huawei, you just look like apple fanboys. lel

                              That's why flat screen is way better

                                I have had bad experience with Huawei glue with my Nexus 6P where battery popped up the screen!! Even with extended warranty paid, I had to get it done by paying out that too with third-party service centre.... Huawei sucks in after sales service in my place!

Still, OLED plagued with this issue untill today, like seriously? Huawei have to be blamed as well for their QC seems weak about this aspects. But the supplier of the OLED screen, LG, seems like the product havent been test at all before fo to production. Its always an issue when using LG screen.

                                  XS series stills good for now, but who knows?

The guy was saying it was great, but it had a fair colour shift on the edges. Seen it in the demo units in store too. It was yellow/orange on the edges. Curved screens are horrible at the best of times. Can't believe that Samsung still bothers with them.

                                        Guees all smartphone brand have try getting some release problems, so im sure it all will be solved very fast. But touch luck :-)
