I am talking about apps like Garageband and protools. And it has a better game library than android so it is a win-win situation.

I'm not talking about being a student that has to write a report or make a meme - I'm talking actual about replacing your laptop for an actual job (outside being a designer) that requires specific professional tools and programs that ios does not and most likely will never provide.

Those are productivity. Apple is working on proting xcode and maybe we get video editing soon.
It is getting there... Up until lately there was no capable hardware. No that there is maybe we will see more apps coming to iPad at once . and once that happens laptops beware. A fanless 630 grams, 13 inch device would be eating your lunch.

Used to a fan of Apple products.. now every product disappoints and not exited anymore. They have to change their strategy by not focusing on profit margins and deliver class leading products..

Then now, it is not a consideration that it is smaller. Xbox one S is seriously weak and is try led by any other current gen console (except switch). So no wonder iPad Matched it. It is/was the low hanging fruit.

Apple a13 gpu performance will be far behind a12x, may be cpu could be equal but i dont think so. By the way there is no chance to a13 beat xbox one x. This is not pssible for the a13x even a14x. Xbox one x most powerful console exist and its performance really beyond xbox one s.

I mean PS2 had fans too. But I bet you that 99% of the phones out there *kill* it in raw perfomance.
One S was (basically) released in 2013 with what amounts to 2011 (high end) hardware.
IPad Pro is top of the line Mobile hardware of late 2018, early 2019. It makes sense if it is matches desktop hardware from 8 years in the past. On average mobiles are about 10 years from desktop hardware but lately apple has fallen below the 10 year mark (8 years on GPUs, 4 on CPUs).

Size, power-consumption & heat are the prime reasons why a smartphone SoC will never be able to compete with dedicated gaming hardware.

Antutu, the worst benchmark of all time. Useless numbers. Even Geekbench is better, which is pretty bad itself , especially for cross platform comparisons.

Yeah, that's really impressive. I don't know what they are smoking calling the difference in cpu a "minor improvement" as nowadays this is the difference between two generations.
Of course, in comparison the jump in gpu performance is mindblowing as even though still way way behind dedicated nvidia graphics card, it's really the next step in integrated graphics easily beating even the iris 650.
With that said, ios is the bottleneck here as there are no productivity apps and no games to really make use of this hardware, so people won't be able to replace their laptops with the new ipads anytime soon.
