Good, this is in line with my previous predictions and warnings to stay away from Xr, its the new iPhone 5c and offers nothing for its price. Low res LCD, camera that doesnt improve over iPhone 8, plastic build. Compared to the outgoing model, which is iPhone X, the Xr really stands out as a repetition of the 5c, which replaced the then premium built iPhone 5.
Its good for Apple too, the Xr is the reason why the Xs and Xs Max has outsold iPhone X a year ago, the two new flagships has not been limited at all by the price premium, if anything the poor Xr has pushed for higher sales of the Xs/Xs Max, just like the 5c increased the sales of iPhone 5s. This is why Xr is so profitable for Apple, they now sell fewer units at a much higher average price, the profitability is recordbreaking in all ways.

android devices focus on mining data from users in turn offering low prices, by cutting costs in quality control, hardware, software development, security, user experience, reliability, longevity, optimization, etc.
windows devices are in the same bucket with android devices.
Whereas iOS and Mac OS devices focus on all the above mentions that others cut down costs on.
If you don't want to be milked for your data and personal info, and don't want to be tracked and monitored on the internet and in real life, you don't touch android or windows devices. And you definitely don't use google services and products. Nor do you use facebook, whatsapp, instagram, etc.
Apple offers you ways to disconnect from google's (and other companies) trackings if you really want to.
I don't agree to google's policies, so the only way I can avoid them is to use iPhones instead of android phones. (or install a custom ROM on an android phone, but then there are a slew of other security issues - more than the issues that come standard with android)
And because I migrated far away from all these, I also replaced my windows laptop with an iPad Pro 12.9".
Now there's no way for google to track me, there's no way someone gets access to my data without me allowing it, no airport TSA being able to get into my phone, no way for anyone to access my data. Not using any fingerprint or faceID - only 8 digit PIN for my phone and 128-bit encryption keys for everything else.

imRGZ, 13 Nov 2018They got stuck after Steve Jobs whereas the competition cau... moreFor example, I am not sure whether Face ID would have gotten approval from SJ....with so many complicated implementations compromising some screen aspects...(Though Android fools started copying that)....I hear lots of problems with X with screen problems and asking customers to sort of compromise on Face ID etc....during repairs.

The problem is this handset is refered to as a budget model and yet to match my current deal as closely as possible on 02 this would cost me £119 upfront $46.16 mine is (£45) a month for 4GB data (I get 5) on a 3 year contract (I`m on a 2 year)....why would I upgrade from a iphone 8 plus for this?

I think the main issue is that the XR feels cheap compared to the XS. Thick body and bezels. You feel like you are buying the poor man's iphone while it still costs 850euros in Europe. New S9+ can be found for 550 euros.
You really have to love ios to put so much money in the Xr

This is due to the iphone consumers are looking into more freedom from restricted iOS. They are slowly coming out from iOS eco system.... And new customers can't enter into iPhone, due to the price factor... Only way is to reduce the mobile price to reach more customers.. Apple can't do this....or increase the pricing again to show the profits to the company...Apple know how to deal with their customers...still they keep buying like sheeps.

Not to mention subpar resolution on a phone with such a huge screen. it should be perfect FHD. (1080x2340) and not to mention offer MUCH MORE for the 750$ price tag it offers. if I were to price this failure I'd cost it top 400$

I like blue one and want it so badly. But it is about 1300 dollars in my country. I think Honor 10 will be my next phone. Tired from black and white and gold phones. I want something colorful.

Budget terminology and iPhone doesn't go hand in hand. The last time they released the so called budget phone, iPhone 5c, everyone knows what happened to it. And now iPhone XR. Same story, same result. Apple gone mad at pricing this time around! Their latest and cheapest iPhone XR costs way more than Apple's main competitor's flagship, Note9! Forget about the Chinese, even Note9 sounds cheaper and far more value for money flagship.
