Thin glass sandwich form factor has not enough point of failure already so we have made another mechanically complex device for more point of failure. Lol. This might be a flop but early adopters beware, you're gonna be the guinea pig for this first gen. design.

Walter C. Dornez, 13 Nov 2018That's the thing, it's a concept. And what's wrong with shi... moreThe fact that it's a concept doesn't excuse it from being poorly executed. In fact, since it's a concept, it should be as flawless as possible to properly convey the idea the creator had in mind! However, as I stated in my initial comment, the people that make these renders aren't concerned with quality or wether or not the render is somewhat feasible. The people who make these terrible renders just push something out as quickly as possible to capitalize on people who cant wait to see a product yet to be fully showcased. It's like if water suddenly came to high demand and someone started bottling toilet water and selling it to people.
"whats wrong with shining a little light on talent" ? You must've not comprehended my comment if you're asking me this question. Since I have to be more clear, this render isn't talent, it's hot garbage. Again, like I said in my previous comment, all tech renders are hot garbage.

Concept videos always put "Glass" as 3D rendering material on their screen which in fact it is not glass.

I can only wish for a foldable phone, with the S-Pen, triple high performance camera on the back that you can also use them as front facing cameras, a whooping 6.3 inch display when closed and double when opened. :(

It is too think when folded together at its thinnest end. It is even thicker at the "hinge" end. Are we going back to the late 80s now, when the phones are the size of a bullion?

Wish this concept would be real, but I'm sure this thing will be overpriced and horrible just as the first edge. Also Im not a fan of edged screens at all. There's still hope that chinese manufacturers will adopt Samsungs screens and use them for good, as in: small phone (2-3") turns into phablet 6"). I never missed a tablet when being outside, also I wonder how much battery a foldable phone will sport...enough to power a 8" tablet? For how long?

But to be honest, the concept is far from impractical or unnecessary. Right off the bat i can literally think of a dozen ways this form factor can be utilized in day to day activities.

It wouldn't make sense for such a very expensive smartphone to use a non-flagship SoC during the time it was released.

I'm not saying I don't embrace the future or the concept, I'm saying that I don't like how it looks when it's closed.
What's with that space between the display when it's folded?
It looks so bad.

Now this, I would pay a $1000 for. Just wish it folded flat like the Nokia Communicators of old.
