You only get one chance to make a good first impression. The terms of the flash sale were not made clear, maybe Xiaomi got away with it in other markets, bur in the UK that's false advertising and there are regulators in place to punish companies for this kind of bs

Finally these chinese manufacturers have been caught red handed. Let's hope other manufacturers like huawei etc. Don't follow these kind of stupid tactics to hype their products.

This is exactly that kind of behaviour which heavily discourage me from considering the brand generally. Similar situation with Huawei when they got caught red-handed with the benchmark cheating - first they said it's ok because "everyone does it", when shown that Snapdragons actually don't do it they said "it wasn't us, it was the AI". This is exactly the moment when the devices of this brand just stop looking so attractive to me.

Obviously this hiccup from Xiaomi is much smaller scale, but even then, if I was to stand in front of decision between two fairly similar devices of Xiaomi and let's say Lenovo, I'm going to come with Lenovo, solely based on reading about this particular "scam".

So what is this all about? A manufacturer offers something for free, a few get it, the rest is upset because they didn't get something for free. I think that's the nature of humans
