zamroni1, 14 Nov 2018buy the flat screen one. curved edge one gives more drawba... moreAgreed, I actually got rid of my S8 because the curve screen had 0 palm rejection. Using it to watch videos (without a case) was a nightmare.

    FLAT 5.8" Screen, please.
Not the gigantic phablet size. The edge screen serve no purpose at all, and it is began to look obsolete.

Sad that Sony dropped side mounted fp just because of USA market wear is lower sales anyway :/ best place for fp is the side of the phone .

Mr Magma, 14 Nov 2018Agree with your opinion. But I think the problem with Sony ... moreSince this year the camera's software is a lot better than before and can compete with other phone's camera software.
The design isn't old and if there is bezels it's ok because the others were using a long notch and still using a chin as we speak so why judge Sony when the others are bad as well.
I have the XZ2 Premium and it's not that chunky.

Great it's cheaper because where I live Samsung and Apple are more expansive than Sony but unfortunately Sony shutdown their operations on the middle east

zamroni1, 14 Nov 2018buy the flat screen one. curved edge one gives more drawba... moreI agree. Some prefer the curved screen, which is great & I'm fine with that, but I find the curves to be distorting, cases don't give full coverage, and it's clumsy in the hand, both in terms of accidental presses & maintaining a good grip. It's the primary reason I didn't upgrade to S8/9 from my flat Exynos S7.

Hoping the flat S10 has same SOC, RAM, storage, camera options as the curved models + headphone jack. Looks like the S10+ will have upgraded camera, RAM, storage over the smaller versions. This is lame; calling crippled devices "Galaxy S" is a joke. There's zero reasons I can find why a larger screen (same resolution) makes any difference to RAM, storage, camera. I'd have no objection to paying extra for 512GB built-in storage for a flat S10.

Kiyasuriin, 14 Nov 2018#Apple #2018 these tags remind you something?haha yes

              buy the flat screen one.
curved edge one gives more drawbacks than benefit.

It better not have SD845. Nobody will be interested in that when they could just buy S9/S9+ for cheaper at that point.

Also, side-mounted fingerprint sensor would be a first for Samsung. I don't see why they would feel the need to move back-mounted one to the side... I have my doubts regarding this rumor. The previous leak by EVleaks was more reliable.

Gandalfdenvite, 14 Nov 2018Can a side fps be used without having to lift the phone up ... moreSounds like u didn't use a smartphone with a side mounted fingerprint sensor before. Worst possible design? I don't think so, it can be used without lifting up your smartphone, regardless of whether it's facing downwards or upwards, because it's on the side. Usually I use my right index or middle finger to unlock it if it was facing downwards or upwards, sometimes using my alternate too, and it worked as expected, my daily driver XPERIA XZ was able to unlock without lifting it up. Don't know why you're hating on it to be honest, a front mounted or under display fingerprint sensor requires the smartphone to be facing upwards, whereas a back mounted fingerprint sensor requires the smartphone to be facing backwards. A side mounted fingerprint sensor can do both, so why bother have two when all u need is just a side mounted fingerprint sensor that does both? That will probably increase their production cost

KamAbdi, 14 Nov 2018I know Sony's problems but the side FPS worked in Europe, i... moreAgree with your opinion. But I think the problem with Sony is that their camera software is always behind the competition. And also their design looks old, big bezels and chunky back. I know xz3 looks good, but where I live the Samsung s9+ is $300 cheaper, even the note 9 is $120 cheaper, so nobody is buying it.

I don't care if they're priced identically, 5.8" and 6.4" target entirely different markets. There's no competing with OnePlus at that size.

The fact that curved/edge displays are now found on every major brand's top tier just proves what I've always maintained: The dumbest people spend the most money.

Anyway, after using my wife's P20 Pro a bit this week it's clear that's going to be next phone (just waiting for a price drop). There still isn't a phone that surpasses its camera prowess (the Mate 20 Pro included), and it's so bleeping fast I doubt anyone could tell the difference between it and the Mate 20/Pro in daily use.

C'mon Samsung, just put the latest snapdragon on the flat s10. With jack and SD card slot it'll sell pretty well.

The sd845 become entry level that's really funny

Gandalfdenvite, 14 Nov 2018Can a side fps be used without having to lift the phone up ... moreYes, it can be used whilst lying on the table, just like the front sensor. And you typically lift a phone by the sides so unlocking a phone by side finger print sensor seems to be a good solution.

I would prefer the new under display kind simply to reduce outside parts, unless it's too slow. Some of the newer seems to be quick enough.
