From both brands, its share relatively similar spec but quite distinctive finish. Samsung felt solid on my grip conversely Xiaomi far from being solid. Both are flagships btw. Then, the QC (quality ctrl) are also in different class. I dont care to camera also. Lastly, Samsung offer official warranty while Xiaomi only unofficial and unreliable local supports (except for some types).

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2018I use a s9+ And there we have it. S9+ is no battery beast.
Even Note 9, which is fairly good the first 2-3 months, quickly gets close to average battery life. You'd still be better off with a Note 9 than S9+ though, if preferring Samsung - which I assume you do since you previously had a Note 3.
Can't hold a tooth to my Xiaomi Mi Max in terms of battery life. I'm just sad they havent come out with a SD660/670/710 or something for the later models, only SD636 available for third gen. which is a let down. The original came with options between SD625 and SD652 and I have the ladder. The new one is still a battery king with huge display, awesome for plenty screen on time, but not for heavy gaming at highest setting on GPU intensive games. Emulators though run fine. CPU is decent, but I would still prefer an option for better chipset as with first gen.
This makes the Huawei Mate 20 X appear to be the best power user phone at this time. Too bad it's only FHD+ pentile. FHD+ would be okay if IPS, but for pentile amoled they should have used QHD+. System could still run at 1080p as standard though - same power usage, but clearer display. As it stands, it's a bit too pixelated for my taste, and especially when considering the price. Otherwise a awesome phone. I guess they didn't want it to appear as a better option than Mate 20 Pro, but I still think it is.
Then again, unless camera is very important, the Honor Note 10 is very comparable. Last years chipset, but still a lot of power, big screen and big battery for less than half the price.

Anonymous, 21 Nov 2018i used to have a note 3 with a 10,000Mah zero lemon battery... moreWell your 10 000 mAh case was only 7300 mAh in 5V, less when including the heat loss during conversion for 3.65 to 5v, but still almost a combined 20000 mAh and relatively slow recharging daily, meaning a lot of the time spent charging case and/or phone. So stationary a lot of the time. You could've gotten the work done better on a laptop a lot of the time, then supplemented with some cellphone use.
Luckily today you have quicker charge and only use about half the energy. So it makes a bit more sense to use the phone compared to before.
