The best notch is the one from the Mi Mix 3 concept leak, with the camera in the top right corner. It sacrifices the smallest no. of pixels and is almost non-intrusive. That o-shaped notch is just hideous!

Front camera is used most of the times today. Rear camera is used unless you are a photographer.

Remove selfie camera. Put a small 2nd screen at the back of the phone & use the rear camera for selfies!

I think that the S9 has a great design alltogether. We don't really need 99% SBR on a display.

There's currently a lot of trials and errors with the screen technology. A notch is quickly becoming old fashioned. Now manufacturers try weird combinations of aspect ratios. And we don't know whether we should keep or remove headphone jack and FM radio. Change is like rest, but some changes are a waste of time (and money). I'll stick with minimal bezels until further notice.

kinda make sense that most of the people still frequenting sites like gsmarena are the suckers who would get anything different for the sake of getting anything different

Well for me or in my case i really dont care about top or bottom bezel.
Small notch is also fine or the waterdrop one. But hole in the bottom of screen is really out of sense.
And for the rest quickchrage is must, at least 64GB of disk space or more in that case any SD slot is useless and also no headphone jack another useless feature.
I am not into holes. Apart the one we all came from.
Screen 5,5 up to 6 maybe 6,5 and a beefy 4000 mAh+ battery.
Thats the ideal phone.

I don't really care about a hole in the screen for the camera, a teardrop notch or a full bezel. As long as the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, expandable storage (if onboard storage is less than 128Gb) and a big battery and of course good camera. An Fm Radio and an IR blaster would be nice additions also, although not indispensable.

Assuming that Samsung go with the left corner hole, what happens to any form of facial recognition / iris scanner for unlocking security? What happens to the notification light, also?
Would they simply be reliant upon the new under screen fingerprint scanner? Not a good move, in my opinion..

At this point I just hope the damn selfie cam would just go away altogether. So much nonsense for a stupid camera that I never use.

There should be a major joint survey done by manufacturers regarding need for a selfie cam at all.
I reckon that every fourth person will say that they dont need/ use selfie cam at all!
Then we could finally enjoy all screen devices :D
