Honestly, I as an Android user disagree about the existence of a new OS called Fuchsia, i agree that the name Android will still be there for more than 10 years, 20 years or more, at least Android will exist until 2050, so there are other names from Android that are not cake or Google needs to continue from Android versions 1.0 to 50.
Because the name Android is better known and cool than Fuchsia, Google must continue to work on the security updates and features that are more advanced, but if it really needs to be a name change it is possible to hope that it might be better for the future of Android.

Well, if this turns into Android 2.0 I won't mind using it as long as I can root it :)
No administrator access means I'm not interested.
Using a smartphone in guest mode is totally insulting and too close to ios.

Google can spy on me but Never can match ads for me. My account is set in a way not to let them collect info. So ads I am recieving are very general)

Google is retiring Android - it's old java simulation layers are long in the tooth.. Fuchsia is supposed to replace Android but Google won't announce anything until it is ready to be served to the consumers.. This is to avoid what happened to Nokia.. They announced that Symbian will be retired and they will move to WP but they have NO DEVICES available for like a year and half.. Symbian sales plummeted and WP arrived too late.. That window(pun intended) of emptiness is what allowed lagdroid back then to flourish even with all the lags and stuff of early androids..

Somehow the whole phone experience just doesn't feel right. Tried to give it a chance but overall experience was horrible.

But I am more toward a... moreAnd which OS would that be? Android is far from giving you perfect freedom, even being rooted. As much as i have used Sailfish (planning to install it to my XZ3 soon, as i find Android too restricting and spying) it's totally more 'free'.
(By restricting i mean that you can't use a lot of features unless you give evil Google total access to your life.) AND this awful white in menus and everywhere. In Windows Phone you could use dark theme and most of even third party apps automatically accepted it. In Android, dark theme is usually 'premium' and paid option. Total customizability indeed.

Also, people should look no farther than Sailfish OS if they want reliable, secure, independent OS that doesn't spy on you. Also you can use Android apps with it (most of them are doing spying on their own though).

With googles and huaweis track record on killing software support this project seems so dead on arrival. I have more faith in jolla and tizen than this.

Good morning people.
This gives me a creeps.
Though coffee i think.
The name is really scare.
Well fire OS is gone, Windows OS for cell phones is also gone.
Lets try and see.
Maybe because of close cooperation with huawei it should be something which will supports only Huawei phones, like apples have IOS.
Soon we can expect custom OS for Samsung phones and maybe Xiaomis. It wont be only MUI but whole OS will be dedicated strictly to certain brand and it wont be used anywhere else.
Either way lets see what future brings on us.
In this sea of Notches,sealed bateries, jackless phones, sliding cameras and foldable phones were always space for something new and interesting.
Hope it will came to far brigther future than Project Tango.
