In case of jack its an ancient technology which have like 150 years so yes its old very old and needs to be removed for sake of god.

    The Ldac option is there for all A, S, and Note series released with oreo. The default option is aptx, you have to change it to ldac first. It will keep using ldac after you do it. But your earphone must support ldac. You cannot activate ldac if your earphone doesnt support it.

    And you have to download "sony earphone companion app" from playstore to force it to use the highest variable bitrate.
    But If u dont want to download it, you can just go to the "developer menu" to activate the highest bit rate.

        My cheap galaxy A6 also supports ldac with the highest variable bit rates.
        I tried it with an expensive sony's bluetooth earphones 2 months ago. And it worked well.

              Sony has enabling every OEM to integrate this standard into their own Android devices freely start from android 8.0 "Oreo", LDAC is already part of android open source program.

                Most people dont want to switch to bt because of bad sound quality.
                AptxHd and Ldac are the cure of this problem. But sadly Not anyone can afford to buy earphones/headphones with one of those techs. It is very expensive.

                  But the "Decoder" is still a proprietary product.

                  Please dont argue with me about this. Im a developer.

                  It means.. All phone manufacturers can freely implemet it to their phones.
                  But Only sony can implement it freely to the earphones.
                  Earphones manufacturers (other than sony) have to pay sony if they want to implement the decoder.

                  So.. removing hp jack is ok, but Both encoder and decoder must be opensourced.

U have to go back to your square... moreSony already open the LDAC code source for every phone makers but it depends the makers how to use and develop it. That's why if you want the LDAC technology please choose from Xperia flagships it is better than those makers because those makers maybe don't development well like Sony.

Can you s... moreA simple way to do manual setting is more practical in daily usage example setting the white balance and brightness etc, most of the people bragging how they very smart to use the manual at the end they willing use the superior automode specially Sony improve the image quality. You can say you must have 2 to 30 exposure time but you will forget bring the tripod some time, the Huawei and Google have show some night magic but it doesn't close to reality scenes and some shaking will ruin some part of the image too.

                      If more manual controls are also welcome but since the superior automode quality is better so perhaps I wouldn't bother to use the manual anymore unless you are the professional photographer, maybe.

                        1. Big phones like the XA series should have bigger resolution. What they offer is a 1080 on a 6 inch phone! Why won't they offer a phone with bigger display and have bigger resolution than buying the premium model?
                        2. They add something that mostly isn't what the user wants. Dynamic Vibration System itself is not a good tech in the first place.
                        3. Majority of smartphones right now have more than 1 camera. And with Huawei Mate 20 pro. It has 4 camera lens. Why wouldn't sony make all their latest model have two rear cameras? Flash is also weaker because it uses a low powered LED flash. While other competitors have dual leds. Even the iphone has QUAD LED TRUE TONE FLASH. Why won't sony use this LED on their latest model?
                        4. Storage is the greatest issue of sony. Apple since offered 256GB internal storage iphones. And some android devices like the Smartisan R1. Has 1TB of internal storage. Sony is still offering 32 to 64 GIGS of internal storage space. And making the user find a 512GB microSD cards on their own. The 512GB microSD card isn't widely available. So why would sony do this?

                          U have to go back to your square design but without bezels. Stop copying samsung. And put back the headphone jack.
                          You can omit headphone jack, only if you opensource your ldac tech. Make it open so all vendors can implement it freely without requiring any license or certification.

                              If the speaker is indeed beside USB my current xperia will be last one.
                              This is midrange feature.

                              It is awful to feel that sound is going away instead of going to your direction.
                              Tech sites started with the ridiculous bezelfobia and now Sony is about to drop it just to make them happy.

                              All things I hate on Galaxy is being ported to Xperia. The oled , bottom speaker..

                              What's next, gonna make ppl carry a tool to open the slot? Use ridiculously ugly virtual buttons instead of stock ones? Tons of stuff that run background and cant be stopped?
                              Cap 4K recording to 10 min.?

                                  The name. I dislike the naming of this phone... Sony Xperia XZ4... ugh.
                                  Sony Galaxy S9X suits this device much better.
                                  If you're making a copy, at least name it alike... it would sell better.
                                  Leave genuine Xperia branding for sth more Sony unique.

                                    Anonymous, 01 Dec 2018Actually s3 and S4 are the best sellers for samsung. Yeah but they still lost some profit at some points in their journey of manufacturing smartphones.
                                    Their last peak was with the S7. The S8 dropped a few, and the S9 drops even further. Even their mid rangers are declining in sales because of the heavy competition from the Chinese OEMs.
                                    Still, these things aren't enough to say that Samsung Mobile is going to die anytime soon, and the same thing applies to Sony Mobile.
                                    Heck, they even sell more phones than Google, yet nobody's saying that Google Mobile is dying. They call me the hypocrite yet their statements prove that they are the ones they're talking about.
