Samsung Mobile is also loosing some profits, even before they became quite successful in the S6 to S8 era, does that mean they're also dying??

Sony can easily gain back those lost profit if they somehow change their strategy in the market, which they seem to be considering to do by next year with all of the changes in their plans.

    Well,
    -the XZ3 introduces the first dual-curved OLED smartphone for a Xperia device
    -the XZ2 Premium introduces the first dual rear cameras for Xperia smartphones
    -the XZ2 introduces the first 18:9 screen for Xperia devices
    -the IMX586 sensor introduces a Quad Bayer layout for better exposure and light sensitivity

    It would practically be dead if Sony no longer makes smartphones, and in the state of dying if they're no longer planning to do anything new and try to compete with the others. They are.

Actually, it's practically dead with less than 1% mobile market share in 2018.The only reason it remains alive and continues to out new smartphone models is because other Sony businesses subsidize its losses.

            The fact that Samsung is using Sony's technology in their smartphone camera is an indication of how powerful and relevant this company remains.

              It could possibly be the XA3 Ultra instead, which would be ready for unveiling at CES 2019.

                Nah, it has to be the XZ3 Ultra, 6.5 inches gives the hint, and there is no rear fingerprint sensor. This is just my guess because the finalization of the XZ4 design is marked to be in December 2018, and product to be announced at MWC 2019 in February 2019. This has to be a product that is ready to be announced for CES 2019 in January. Which is most likely the XZ3 Compact and Ultra.

I mean, you're using them for a very long time now, if I'm correct, so you should somehow be familiar on how to manage it to make it perform even better.
                    I guess you've never done that anyway, and I don't think you have seen their progress in years, rather you only try to seek for even the tiniest of faults that they have.

                    I never said the switch to a new design language has something to do with the removal of the jack. It was simply the trend for the flagships that Sony somehow felt the need to join in, and again, whether it's a good thing or not depends on the people, but they just listened to what the users are saying.

                    I didn't even try to compare that 2002 DSLR to the XZ2 Premium, it was just purely an assumption or thought. Somehow you focused on that minor thing when I didn't even try to give a focus on it. I guess you can't argue with that statement since it's true?

                    ***Question is, is it really poor? There are phones with better dynamic range, but does that necessarily mean that the inferior ones are bad? XZ Premium only takes a single photo, and the worse dynamic range is purely the dynamic range of the main sensor. Others perform multi-frame image stacking to widen the DR, but that's just perceived exposure and NOT natural since software tweak was performed to achieve such greatness.

                    Idc about your XZ Premium being made of cheap materials. I tried it too myself multiple times, and it was a very good phone in every single way.
                    If you really take care of your devices, you'd rather invest some cash for protection to them.

                                  When are we going to get the 128 GB storage option in a 4K HDR phone from SONY in 2018, or ever?

                                  I specifiy 4K because this uses a lot of storage space and SONY R&D does not seem to have the no how to allow for the use of two sims and an SD card at the same time; they can't solve this issue, because they want to put lower capacity batteries in their phones.

                                  They sell one version of their phone as SINGLE SIM, then another version at a higher price of the SAME phone as DUAL SIM, so why can't we get the option of 128 GB in the DUAL SIM version of a SONY $999.00 Flagship phone?

                                      I'm using mobile phones since year 1999. My first gsm phone was Siemens. And since then I used to buy latest and greatest. So, I'm watching mobile industry from "quite a while".
                                      Changing OmniBalance Design doesn't have anything in common with headphone jack. It was stupid management decision to "follow the trend".
                                      I own and still using one of the latest OmniBalance design phone - XZ Premium. XZ1 was the last, but almost identical, just smaller.
                                      Comparing 2002 DSLR with XZ2 Premium is to compare carrots with plums. It is idiotic, at least at technology timing point of view.
                                      "Sony prefers not to tweak many things on the image in order to keep it natural" - Yea, great noise and poor dynamic range on my XZP is natural? And I'm not speaking for perfect light conditions. In such conditions every cheap smartphone in last year can take nice photo.

                                      My XZP have good design, but... Very very bad transitions between top and bottom metal parts and glass on the front and back. The sides are plastic. The metal is soft and very very easy to scratch. I bought it because of the look. Still using it, but will be my first and last SONY phone. Even my old but gold NOKIA 808 can make better pictures than this crap. With just a fraction of the CPU power of XZP.
