Kangal, 10 Dec 2018Now if Huawei and ZTE get blocked in Canada, South Africa..... moreA little geography correction for you - France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium - are not North European countries. And Hong Kong is part of China.

Now if Huawei and ZTE get blocked in Canada, South Africa.... that's all the English-countries. And if they get blocked in North Europe (France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, etc etc)... that's the majority of the "high-end" market gone.
Then all that's left is Israel, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE small nations/scraps.
But there's still a couple large nations: Russia, Brazil, India to win contracts in.
And some medium nations: Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, etc etc which can add up if they're successful.
The rest of nations of Africa, Asia, South-East Asia, and South America is lower on the list of importance for these corporations.

Mailman, 09 Dec 2018Can you remind me who was sent to jail from top managers? ... moreThose trades are perfectly legal and have no any connection to US. US signed all agreements themselves. So it's just a cheap excuse to take a hostage.

iComent, 09 Dec 2018Why would China block sites like Google or Twitter or even ... moreGoogle, Youtube, Twitter, Facebook etc. All large media services shutting down US oppositional media. Their censorship is working on all time high in the US. But when it comes to other countries, no one has a right to do the same. And again. Google withdrew some of their servies themselves to avoid connections with chinese legislation. And again. Now they are bringing them back and will start work as everyone else should. And that's applies to China only. Not to what Google is doing in the US.

Mailman, 09 Dec 2018Maybe Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube....Google is not banned just because it's Google. Google was rejecting to work under Chinese legislation in China. ZTE on the other hand was banned just because it was ZTE. The ban was imposed selectively, not basing on equal legislation. And Google works well in China. They only shut down some of their services they didn't want them to work in China themselves. And now they are returning their services. There was no sanction, no jails, no massive fines, no requirements to sell company to chinese owners.

How convenient that the US is only interested in banning Huawei's, the second most profitable phone company in the world, devices...
I didn't want to believe it but the whole "US is just scared of Huawei surpassing Apple" thing sounds more and more likely every day.

In countries like China, people needs to listen only their government and that's how government can control people. Try to say something bad about government and you will see human rights in China.

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2018Why nobody worries when China is not allowing in country - ... moreChina does not send to jail Google, Facebook, Apple or Amazon top managers, because they violate local laws in foreign countries. And some american companies do not work in China simply because they reject local equal legislation that applies to everyone, not just to specifically listed companies from specific countries, like USA does.
Google, for instance, is working to launch in China some of its services they didn't want to launch before in the near future.

nikola, 09 Dec 2018violator of human rights.... have you ever been in china? c... moreAt least they will let you know that someone has been arrested but with China you might never know. I am no fan of US but although i would rate both of them lowest but china would even be lower. I have not been to china but have known about them from several Chinese people. maybe not enough as a chinese but as an outsider I have pretty clear idea of them.
