HTC will focus on flagships and mid-rangers in 2019

Expect to see more of the U12 series next year. However, HTC's idea of a mid-ranger apparently includes S435-powered phones.

    If a phone like ROG orSamsung galaxy note 9 or both of them i mean all of their features cameras etc will be released with SD435 it will be a low end phone because SD435 is a low end CPU.
    Features does not matter but CPU and GPU along with RAM.
    Sometimes less is a lot more and in this case POCO is a lot more for a less.

              LG mobile division suffer the same problem.. but htc situation is a lot more worse. . for example their definition for flagship is 'wrong' because they define it on the price they put.. but for most people, flagship is define by the performance. one way to get out from their current situation is to cut the cost, reduce the price and make minimum profit margin. . . etc. learn how xiaomi produce poco brand phone + google pixel hardware specs + put a stock android/android one = win product

              I do love htc in the past but nowadays their product seem rubbish and overpriced .. in this current situation i dont know how htc top management think.

                Sony has Taiwan as second favorite market, better sales there than Htc and Asus.

                Bye the way, many gossips on weibo say XZ4 has the imx664. It would be Quad Bayer 1/1.8" 48MP with Quad Pixel AF.
                The phone would be able to record 8K because of own ISP, not relying on Spectra.
                Posts suggests that also Sony gave a prize to some cam team because they could create a HDR mode much stronger than Google's...

                          Grats i litterary cant wait t have a SD435 in a phone for 250 or 300 euros with a HTC sticker on it.
                          Comapred to Lenovo with SD855 HTC really can smock weed.

                            with its current depleted workforce HTC stands NO CHANCE of taking the fight to the likes of Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, LG, Sony, or even Asus.

                                i like Sony design, but UI/UX wise is not so practical as others, speakers are low, battery is decreasing in quality.

                                bring back the old Sony/Sony Ericson and everyone will be happy for sure.

                                HTC, well, should close doors as quick as they can cause year by year growth is decreasing and they will have more loss than ever this year and the next, so, its better to pay to employees and be run out of money later than put them in trouble with money they dont have or be run out of.

                                  SInce SD have 200, 400, 600 and 800 series they may think: 200 series is low end, 400 mid range and 600 high end...and 800 is out of theyr range because is outstanding for theyr phones.

                                    Htc should focus on advertisement to....no doubt htc phones are awesome.

                                      [deleted post]While it is technically true that SONY are not in good position nor in condition to match with other big tech out there, they are still doing better compare to HTC, not to mentioned they had their PlayStation division that could lend some extra cash to the Xperia division. Hell, even LG, ASUS and ZTE might be doing better than them. (The letter may not in "great" condition at the moment due to the previous fiasco, or else they definitely will be doing better than HTC.) I guess this is the generation for Huawei (Future king of smartphones) and Apple, follow by Samsung (falling behind), Google, Xiaomi, BBK and its subsidiaries and even Microsoft with their Surface line tablet, with some which manage to survive such as SONY, LG, ASUS, ZTE, BlackBerry and Nokia.

                                        Taken away the headphone jack, same uninspired design, overprice even though there is same spec/quality phone out there with lower price or higher prices phone which offer better deal than it (especially the mid-range level), not to mentioned lack of marketing and etc. Ya I had absolutely no idea why their business is going down.
