I use phone maybe 2-3 hours on working day, and i dont want to shrink screen size every time i need to reach something for uper left or right corner, or if i want to stop music, thats a more than 300-400 times per day. For that i use another hand.. that why we need on the market more good, compact phones, in all price class or at least in mid. I know for screen resize is not anything new. In the last 2-3 years, every, i mean every known brand have that option build in in their skin, rom. Even iOS have that opinion.. Ok, i am not sure for Stock Android, but for rest sure, because, and thats a problem, every brand make only big phones, or at least 98% of them. Those small phones like 9 Lite, A2 Lite, Redmi 6, have another flaws. So it will be ideal for Samsung mobile to make good M10 for as, customers

you can actually set it in the accessibility to quickly access it. it doesn't shrink physically your device but makes the display smaller with software. and you can ACTUALLY SET your active screen size to as small as 4.9inches.

Kiyasuriin, 19 Dec 2018Create a petition about it then. https://secure.avaaz.org... moreNah, it will be better to find out new phone with 5.5" max (18:9, or even 19:9 is is notch in small water drop) from middle class segment, for myself. My primary phone is Note 9, phone is good, works ok, have good battery, screen, but its imposible to use all the time that phone with one hand. So i want middle class (and price) phone it does not matter brand that much (Honor and Xiaomi is also welcome), but only two phones i was found with that dimension or similar, with chippa chippa price in China -:)

One is Honor 9 Lite, phone looks good, its compact, no notch, but have bad battery, at least bad in another comparision. That another phone is Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, also compact phone, with great battery life, but its bulky, and have notch, so even if we hide it (via some app) it will be still visiable because od IPS greyish-blqck color..

Maybe this upcoming M10 from Samsung will be good, i hope so.

[deleted post]am pretty sure they must find a way or have something to fix that, just like they did with the notch though, when playing games or watching videos, if not then its gonna be a problem but lets not get to conclusions, let's wait and see first.

[deleted post]I am using the notch as an area to rest my thumb. this way a notch doesn't bother me~ hehe~

The worst part is, you can't hide it at all! It will end up looking like a bunch of dead pixels while watching a movie. I can stomach a notch if it's as small as 6T

I was wrote for dimensions, and that Pixel 3 good example (with basic software but thats not a point here). It is compact phone, not to bulky, not to big like other phones (even notchy 3XL), have 5.5" but in 18:9 and Full HD (Plus, for 18:9 format) resolution. But in real, its compact, ease to hold with one hand, and have long enough screen. I just want that OEMs make at least 2-3 models per year in that shape, rest 1000 models well if is 6", or 6,2", or 6,5" small, they can make phones 7" +..

Wow this thread is full of whiners. First of all these are just renders based on rumors, second it's an entry level phone, that chin in the render (and the previous leak) and the notch are among the smallest we've seen so far. You want to see fat chin, go see Zenfone Max Pro M2

Trilulilucoder, 19 Dec 2018Its not about ppi, or screen ratio (16:9, 18:9, 19:9).. It... moreBecause if it will be 16:9 in that form WITHOUT a notch or a hole. it will look weird. people are used to that long soapbar form. it'll be TOO SHORT if it's a 16:9 one.
plus. by today's means. a smartphone is also a media center for watching videos. I agree that not everyone love phablets. it's understandable. but sales show that bigger phones sell better.
and money talks to the companies. I'd recommend setting a startup for small phones again

Its a Samsung, brand name, number one in Android world (in sales), so yeah, price will be at least 300€ in EU in the begining of sale.

Its about dimension of the phone(s).
Is it that hard to make phone like Pixel 3 (compact for today standards, fit into 5.2" od 16:9 phones), and holes, notches is not a option? Is it hard to OEMs to make, at least 2-3 phones (of 50 for year) in that shape and in the middle class. If we look on Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, LG, HTC, even Samsung.. i guess it is.
Dont get me wrong, i know for phones like Redmi 6a, Redmi 6 below 100$ price tag, and without notch, but plastic build, bad screens, MediaTek is no option ..

Maybe it's the cheapest offering Samsung has and they claim it as an entry level phone for that reason.
Kinda like the entry level iPhone would be the XR at a very high price. Just my opinion.

I don't see how 6" screen, 5000 maH battery, 3 GB of RAM, and certainly not below EUR 300, can be called "entry level".

I mean it looks like a great phone, I'm just saying that calling it "entry level" at EUR 300 or more is not honest.
