The battery for the 3XL is really not great even after replacing one with another. I hope a software update would really help.

Anonymous, 24 Dec 2018People have the same right to enjoy large phones as you to ... moreSure, doesn't make them phones though because mobile phones made to be mobile. And this fact remains to this day no matter what companies do to make you believe otherwise.

still too many issues that cant be fixed from software like the terrible microphone when recording video. 4gb is just a problem straight up.

1000buks for a phone with only a fingerprint sensor? while other phones offer face recognition, iris scanner, UD FS , so many more options.

I feel like google made little effort on the hardware while putting in maximum effort on the software, and even then the software came unfinished.

Dings., 24 Dec 2018It time Google to make their own processor That's not a bad idea. I suspect, that Google might able to deal with Intel and/or Samsung to co-develop SoC's too.

The only reason I'm hesitant getting a Pixel 3 are two things -

Battery life and it may not be able to sync with my MacBook Air.

My Essential gets excellent battery life and is actually shorter although wider. It can also sync to my MBA using Android File Transfer very easily like my LG and Motorola phones can.

I had the first Pixel before. Wasn't able to sync to macOS. I had to keep going to my parents to transfer files using their Windows computer. If I see the Pixel 3 for $400, then I'll consider it. I actually bought a $12 holster case from an indoor swap meet for the Pixel 3 already.

I'm very patient with the tech. I don't like overpaying for the latest and greatest. I got the Essential a year after release because I saw it on Amazon for only $224 on August 20th. I'm the type who wants stuff at its cheapest and barebones. I didn't even get a PS4 until the cheaper slims came out.

I'll wait for a good deal on the Pixel 3 down the road. Until then, I'm happy using my Essential Phone, Apple iPhone SE, LG V20, LG G5, and Motorola Moto E4 as a team.

Anonymous, 23 Dec 2018The pixel is simply the iPhone of Android. As in over price... moreIPhone offers more a lot more

No phone with proper face unlock.
Every other phone has almost half the CPU prowess
Every other phones needs to be phablet sized to put in so much hardware.

Apple time and again shows technical brilliance.

Pixel never did. OK the cameras used to be brilliant however Huawei mostly caught up. Everything else though is downright mediocre or even bad.

No pixel is the iPhone of androids. Pixel is the allview (or whatever crappy phone/brands) of known brands.

Google doesn't care. Simple. All they care is collecting your data, so gadget brilliance does not matter to them.

                            Too many haters on here.

For the second time, I accidentally dropped my Essential Phone. First time, it fell from my holster case and fell back first on a wooden floor. The second time, I placed it on a pillow but it had slipped on the side of my bed near the wall and onto the tile. ZERO DAMAGE each time.

It looks flawless the day I opened the box. My point being that sometimes the best phone for a person doesn't have all the features. My Essential lacks headphone jack, expandable storage, removable battery, IR blaster, etc. I'm totally fine with it.

The Essential Phone is basically the cousin of the Pixel 2 and older cousin of the Pixel 3. I love this write-up. The Pixel 3 would be my daily driver now if I didn't have the Essential Phone. At the end of the day, people find products that just works for them. Doesn’t need to have all the bells and whistles.

It time Google to make their own processor

Not surprised. The smaller phone won because it's smaller. Nowadays it's all about big big and bigger phones. This has to end. They are phones not tvs.
I'm glad you understand what's going on, enough is enough.

You are wrong again !!!!! Pixel phones.., are not the best in any kategory., except maybie kamera. Only 4.gb ram mem., ugly, not the best screen, weakened SD 845, ..etc...etc..., so..for me another disappointing phone.

Many many many phones have competed against iPhone in c... moreSpecs, specs and specs won't make the best phone, it's just a partial equation. I had many flagship phones from different brands... And I can tell you that I got tired of laggy, baggy phones with cameras that over saturate colors, over-sharpening photos and software... No support at all, it's pure garbage.

Pixel line is the first line that is actually competing against Apple.

"Pixel 3XL" is a design nightmare, a step backward from much better designed "Pixel 2XL". Also it has a smaller battery. "Pixel 3" on the other hand has a symmetrical design. I'm sticking with my "Pixel 2XL" until they release a true flagship phone! + Pricing of 3XL is a joke! Google thinks very high of themselves!
