DxO rates the Pixel as the best phone without a tele camera, matching the iPhone XR.

Google knows how to make a really good camera phones. It's their extaordinary algorithm that deliver a top quality photos. Imagine the best sensor combine with the best lens and the best image post processing all of it on a Google phones. Whether Google uses single camera, two, three or even five cameras, the result of the photos is always pleased in the eyes.

        I prefer Iphone XS photos style. If you want exactly same sensor and picture quality what Pixel 3 - just buy Xiaomi MI8 with exactly the same sensor and install GCAM Mod :) I don't see any difference and there is something good - you can still use great factory APP with more like iphone style. I moved to MI8 from Galaxy S9+ and i prefer photos from Xiaomi.

          Pixel 3 uses the newer IMX363 vs the older IMX362.

          The difference are probably minor but still not technically the same.

            So Note 9,iPhone XS max,HTC U12,Mi MIX 3 camera quality is better than pixel 3. LOL. DxOMark is not to be trusted.

              Makes sense. The Pixel 2 & 3 use the exact same sensor and the only minor improvements are software related.

              Hopefully Pixel 4 will have a better camera & better specs as well.

              Currently the best phones for versatile & detailed casual photography are Mate 20 Pro, Note 9 & iPhone XS Max.
