The punch hole screen camera is the way forward

In order to have a good-looking phone from the front, we have to go through some unpleasant notch and cutout stages.

Sort by:

notches & tears/waterdrops are too big & ugly af... small hole punches or under screen cameras are the best way to go

    Seriously? Do you really think everyone would feel good about 100% STB? If a company feels full screen is the way to go, then they are free to do so. But not everyone like it. I for one, hate this and this is why I buy phones without notch. For me, 100% screen looks like absurd but that's just me. So please don't talk for everybody!

          Who do you think you are to decide for us to what is better and what is not?
          You think %100 display is better than better usage, fine enjoy, IF you can; slippery back, unbalanced design, and swipe gestures that works terribly on giant displays.

          The designs of the smartphones ate getting More and more terrible and useless as years went by.
          Displays are getting bigger for no reason, useful features like headphone jack and solid rectangular display design are fading away because of a useless design update. And worst of all the people like you supporting this with not being a caveman.
          What about the usage?Can you use a 6inch 100%display phone with one hand on mobile? Well I can and can't; I can't use it with the current designs, theres no way, it doesn't gives the ergonomic feeling.
          But with an old design, like second generation fabula design (aka lumia 1520based design ) and a better ui it's very easy to use.

          You guys should watch the videos of Marko Ahtisaari ; especially the ones that he introducing the Nokia n9and lumia 920 (oh I'm sure these phones are like a piece of rocks to you, well judging by your last sentence I can tell that you don't have any taste of art so it wouldn't surprise me)

          The size of display doesn't matters if the usability is zero and I can term to you the the current design languages usability is in the below of the average.
          The corners are too round, you can't grab there phone safely, no Matter what side it is,, the back is flat, it defies the human nature, and all the models are made of glass, best material to slip away.
          From this perspective the best phones with good user experience with is design is the old lumia and n9 models.
          İn these days Sony follows their footstep, I appreciate them, and thanks to their customizable gestures Samsung too has a for user . experience.

              And I still use iPhone 7 simply because I can't afford the newest and greatest phone at all time. So, I'm one of the cavemen?

                This is a lie. The cut-outs, be it a punch hole or a notch contribute in no way whatsoever to the eventual development of under-display cameras. We should not embrace stupidity just because it's temporary - quite the opposite, the less R&D resources are wasted on these ugly workarounds, the more can go to ensuring the birth of the swan.

                And Apple themselves clearly believes the notch is ugly - it's quite telling that they chose the "planet" wallpaper that hides it for all of their marketing material.

                        I hope you're being sarcastic, because if I was, I would say the same thing.

                        I don't see any reason that this is a technological advancement... I hate round corners, I hate curved edges, I hate the removal of headphone jacks, all because you're sacrificing function for form...

                        I hate this multi camera mess that is justified by nonsense. Google is doing stuff with just one camera module that other manufacturers are struggling to do with upwards of 3 and 4 these days!

                        After a while some stuff will reach a point that they are just perfect. This consumerism that is plaguing this world of ours is working against human logic and it needs to stop. People need to be more educated about these things so companies like Apple would look ridiculous by getting rid of all these conveniences that we have.

                        Manufacturers have to stop imitating Apple like the sheep that imitate the goat in the herd!

                          I think the approach taken by Honor Magic 2 and Mi Mix 3 are much better than punch hole camera.

                          Plus slider phones are cool AF.

                              Punch hole camera makes no sense. What can you show in these few pixels on the top and left of it? Just place a notch in that corner.

                                  Is it really that important to have a bezelless phone even if the screen is incomplete? Come on, I just want a phone with a complete screen (round-corner screens like the one in the G6 is okay for me)!

                                    Make 2 versions of the phone, 1 with & 1 without front camera.
                                    :-) Let the consumers decide which to buy based on their needs.

                                      We need this ugly duck in order to have a beautiful swan in the future, good phrases though. I never like notch at all. Get rid the notch once for all, the future will bright if there is no notch. The future is all under the display this is what we called technological advancement. Make progress to the humankind, remove the notch and please welcome 100% scren to body ratio. I like that future phones.

                                        The punch hole makes the phone so beautiful , (irony). Actually what a hell is this , they invent some shitty design phones , getting worst and worst every year. how i miss 2014 (in smartphones talking).
