The punch hole screen camera is the way forward

In order to have a good-looking phone from the front, we have to go through some unpleasant notch and cutout stages.

Mediatek sux, 31 Dec 2018Sure, their chips are the result of 0 % r&d . I don't see where I said they invest 0% in R&D , I just stated that they invest more in marketing and lawyers cuz mostly that's what they invented the best , lies and patent lawsuits . As for their chips , are made by TMSC and some older models by Samsung as well , they just make the design , kinda the way they buy the amoled displays from Samsung and then they tune it but for the chips is something deeper. A trillion dollar company that basically invests in almost nothing that makes it useful in real world . They do have nice devices and "proper" updates for more years but that's only a result of very few hardware differences that they have to optimize their software for . None of the companies are perfect, at the end of the day they are all crap that want our money , however show some respect to those that invest and take risks to innovate .

Rubbish. It's an excuse for lazy innovation. Notches and holes distract from and spoil content, from photos to movies.
Best solution to all this is the popular 12-15 years ago slider form factor. As is it Oppo and others have tried recently?
Benefits: 1. 100% Bezel free artifact free display. 2. If implemented well, slider protects both front and rear cameras.
            3. Slider makes answering and ending calls much more intuitive for the elderly, being tactile. Some older.people struggle operating touch screens, sometimes their hands are too dry for the touch area to respond, or they get confused when the UX gets in a mess.
Slide to answer, slide to end call is far more sensible.

It's about what people like and marketing. Look at apple , did they invent the smartphone? Are they having the best smartphone? No ! They just made a bloddy phone and invested more money in marketing and lawyers , more than they invest in R&D , that's if they have such a division.

Despite majority of content consumption is now mobile (just a wild guess from the fact that more people own a smartphone than other computing devices), 16:9 are still the most common aspect ratio of all devices combined. Some devices are also 3:2 instead of 2:1, so give it another 2-3 years for 18:9 content to become mainstream.

Boat shaped, ship shaped, Water drop, Tear drop shaped, punching holes are not necessarily be needed for every customer. To me LG V30, Samsung Note 8/9, S8/9 and Few Meizu's are best designed phones with minimum bezels which are no way intrusive to customer liking's.
OEMs, nowadays are charging premium and calling this gimmick innovations on top part of phone and leaving chin as they like.. But for average Joe, I dont need this BullSh*t innovations and give proper symmetrical phone..!

The demand for No Notches was just an excuse to hate on Apple, not a real problem. No notch on any phone today intrudes on the 16:9 area of the display, hence they are not covering anything essential.

The goal is to actually brainwash people into abolishing common sense and basically embrace insanity. Tech, movies (With the constant "liberal" propaganda), rules. schools, it's everywhere. They want you to accept the ABNORMAL as normal (And reject the normal) and money is not the goal. As we've seen, many companies (Movie makers too) have suffered money losses due to their "liberal"/insane policies.
