The punch hole screen camera is the way forward

In order to have a good-looking phone from the front, we have to go through some unpleasant notch and cutout stages.

Way forward is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 slider. Punch hole is less of an offender than notch, but it's still stupid.

    The corporations program consumers to think they need to get rid of bezels, or sacrifice the headphone jacks for battery capacity and so forth. People will become perfectionists and think "I can't stand a bezel", then upgrade when brainwashed by new models' so called wonders. In reality none of it matters anything whatsoever.

      I will switch to Android if they can get rid off the chin. I dont care about the notches or holes etc. I want the same edges of iPhone X/R/SMax.

        I disagree.... first, the water drop notch looks better than punch-hole option.... and upon having either punch-hole or water-drop notch, we miss-out on few crucial features like tiny and sufficient notification LED, we miss-out on camera flash.

        On second thought, having bezel-less doesn't make practical improvements or betterment, so for that, why we shall compromise so many things? Let there be small bezels and focus on other areas of improvements like better battery technology, better software / OS experience and better sound

          Yes, Essential PH-1 was the first phone with a notch, there was also the Sharp Aquos S2, but all the companies tried to emulate the Apple solution, just as they have been doing for the past ten years. For clarity's sake, I edited the verb so you and some other users can be happy with your Apple disapproval.

          Also, the term "fake news" is massively overused and you're obviously seeing something that isn't there.

            The Punch hole is on the top on Portrait mode. But on horizontal mode it is in the center.
            While gaming you will have to flip the phone to only one side.
            I am happy with my s9+. No notch No punch hole. A complete screen.

I won't see the letters there when i browse pages or watching something with subtitles. I won't be able to use certain buttons (Just because you haven't seen such an example in reviews doesn't mean it doesn't exist). It's insane.

                      I think hole screen is much much better than the notch.

                      You may go and watch youtube on the Huawei Nova 4 review. If you watch movie or playing game, basically the hole screen on the left bottom side won't affect you

                        but seriously, have you tried gaming on one of these punch-hole camera screens? it's bad. it's right on-top of the controls. Not forgetting watching movies and viewing photos with a hole in the middle of the picture. it's distracting, much more so than those notches.

                                Many people argue here , so many engineers and phone designers and haters . You should all start a raising found to start your own company and start making perfect phones . None of you likes anymore phones from 2005 with one/two days battery life , 2" display and different buttons on every phone , storage for 20 songs and a few mb of internet on the phone for those who can afford only and the list goes on . I personally think that in the last few years we had the best competition in the phones industry which also makes it very risky investment lots of money and failing if the public doesn't like it especially in an era where everyone has an opinion. Fact is that today's phones are amazing, notch , no notch , punch hole , normal screen and so on . Have patience and by 2020 we will have a truly bezel-less display, and once phone makers will have this technology on every phone they will start improving more in other areas such as battery , cameras etc . Complain less and say thank you more to those companies who invest money in R&D even if you don't use their products and Happy new year to all of you.

                                  If your phone has a stb ratio is less than 80% than u r a caveman. O. Ok. What about a caveman with your punch hole phone. He will become 4 legand.

                                  It is matter of taste dont talk like kids.

                                      Big bezels>small bezels>notch>punch hole ... we only must survive this year. I hope that next year spoiling the field of view on your phone will be only a bad dream. I also hope that my Galaxy S8+ will be enough for me for 2019 year since there is no phone that can replace it for me right now(maybe Galaxy Note 9 but is it worth it?)
