It was there to copy and tag along on Samsung's innovations. Trick easy people into thinking they got exactly the same as on the more expensive Samsung. The usual sales strategy of LG.

However the galaxy is the only that begins to justify in comparison to the other over priced devices. In r n d, included accessories, cost and advancement of hardware and software, marketing, etc. It's a better value than pixel, Sony, iPhone, and numerous other similarly priced devices.
And so far objectively overall best.

However nothing excuses the cost of any of them.

You have no idea how much software lives inside, if I were to give an analogy it would be, comparing a 2008 Japanese Car to a 2016 Tesla Car, that's how these devices have changed from 2014 to 2019.

Like you also said, in reality only hardware matters when comparing hardware abilities. Comparing the software or what the rest of the phone does has zero to do with the display's capabilities. So, LCD sux as an always-on device.

I believe it's not a good idea... our finder will leave some tiny oil or smudge over the screen area we touched, that will affect quality of photo taken using front camera, no?
