Screen protector cry babies incoming lol

Just having a beer, 28 Dec 2018Finally a solution that makes sense. Those notches, drops a... moreI don't think it is. Display hole is basically the corner placed-version of waterdrop notches. They ate pretty much same space, since you can't do anything with the screen on the corner, on its behind.

I would rather go for extra bezel space like what Sony Xperia XZ3 and Samsung Galaxy S8/9 did and combine it with iPhone Xs front sensors (dual camera, IR, dot projector, etc) ability, since with this screen hole, for making it different with notches, they would go for one or two camera only with no extra sensor.

non issue non news. tvs have done this for years and years. these phone manufacturers simply act like they've done some kind of progress when stuff that actually matter, like oh I dunno, battery life maybe, hardly moves forward

the market deserves a crash really

okay, phone makers have been getting rid of the 3.5mm jack, sim slot, SD slot, and speakers. When we will see no buttons, no mic and no usb?

"LG will show off a TV that uses its 65-inch display as a speaker at the CES"

Pretty sure SONY current (as in sold in store already) flagship tv "Bravia XBR-A1E" is already using this tech right now.

And AGAIN GSMArena forgets Sharp, that (as so often with display development) was first with this.

It took Samsung all the way into this year.... 2018 with the s9 to finally put powerful stereo speakers on the main flagship. When 10 years ago prior they were doing well with them. For the life of me I don't know what took them.
However they are pretty much the best overall best sounding now...
But how will this effect that?
Even when it comes to the best of the best camera's, speakers and batteries still leave something to be desired on phones as it is.

Oh no please keep doing normal speakers because stereo is so cool. I love it on my iPhone X!

Actually LG is not the first one to do so on TV.
Sony has already has 2 generations of OLED TV with sound coming from the screen directly. See A1, A8 and A9 series.
