LG G7 ThinQ will receive Android 9 Pie update in Q1 2019

The timeline sadly only applies to Korea, which means other markets will probably have to wait until Q2.

Was massively impressed with the specs of the G7 and enjoyed using it but their update schedules are very poor. Needless to say, it got sold and I got the Pixel 3. It's not all about updates but it certainly helps. I owned the G7 for 8 months and had one security update in the UK in that time! Pretty poor support for a flagship phone

    And that's the reason they can't have nice things! :)
    It's a flagship model amd they should work harder to bring software updates for it!

        Not to hate, but if they can't treat their "high end" phones like one, then I don't see the point of still making them.
        The lackluster sales of the phone already gives them the advantage of less units to be updated, which leads to faster update rollout.
        Sure, the software is heavily customized, but it's technically their strategy to release updates quickly, as Sony and even Nokia have skins on top of stock Android yet still release updates almost as quick as Google does.

        I badly want to have the V40 ThinQ for its incredible Hi-Fi Quad DAC, but LG's update system is keeping me away from it

                Because if they did like every year , it was not going to get Pie before june..
