Mercedes owners disagree. I can clearly see and see the difference. Overall smoothness,speed of opening apps,multitasking....everything is noticeably faster on newer SoCs.

Yet that mode is not for sustainable use of demanding apps,it overheats, throttles etc. It's just a benchmark mode that Huawei held hidden and turned it on only when os detected a benchmark being run. Now user can turn on cheats manually but your real life performance is lined up with normal mode on.

Apple and Samsung users are jealous because they cannot watch their 4K SDR videos they recorded right on their phones. They need a TV to feel their videos are good.
Too sad for them only Sony phones can record 4K Rec2020 and playback 1s later on the only 4KHDR BT2020 10bit screen...
SD855 is capable of 4K60 HDR10, but since exynos and A13 cannot.. Poor them...
Did I told this phone has a 240Hz oled? Looks like LG and Sharp do better than people think.
Sammy will stuck on 60Hz and 8bit...

2k and 1080p are almost exactly the same. You're referring to 2.5k.

A 'Premium' 4K version seems to come every two models once a year.
2016 XZ Premium.
2017 XZ2 Premium.

Well the change of Ceo might work. They admitted that the downfall started because there was no rapid development in innovation. This i feel is their last chance. But for this they will need a world-class of everything including screen, camera, speakers, battery. Their performance has always been good so this benchmark is meaningless. Xperias hardly lag and is next to pixel in performance.

As i already know since , the first place i became a person who likes Sony and its product lineup since 2011 . It wouldn't be a Sony phone or Sony article on any websites (especially GSMArena) , if it doesn't sparked any controversial and debate between users of pros/cons/neutral and dozen of comments placed here ....
By the way , though Antutu score doesn't always means real-life performance and usage of a devices , this could be a proof of Snapdragon 855 does overdo itself than i expected (well , more than A12 Bionic and Kirin 980 based on digits) , promising with more power being supplied , and faster-better than before (S845) .
Just my thoughts though . No need to beating about the bush of it ...

Well,
1) 21:9 is the true cinematic "full-view". Maybe it's a nice trend at last?
2) The guys at Sony are quite clever... Treating the 3.5 like Sammy treated the card slot when moving from S5 --> S6 --> S7. Ah well. The marketing stunt worked.

If you haven't use a phone with 4K screen please don't assume it's the same as other resolutions, this 4K screen here is full of details you'll never see in any other screens.

Anonymous, 02 Jan 2019S820 is plenty fast. To claim otherwise is ridiculouss820 is plenty fast. The speed in daily use the others are talking about comes from other System \SOC improvements (like faster RAM) on the newer phones. HOWEVER , the Gpu in sd820 is so powerful that it gets bottlenecked by the cpu. The singlecore is still (almost) up to todays standards, but multicore gets beaten by a 180€ low end phone (e.g the redmi note 6 pro I got for my wife).
Believe me, I tested A LOT and I am not unexperienced. My Phone History:
Siemens A50 -> Siemens C72-> Sony Ericsson k750i->k850i->c510->Samsung Wave 1->Wave 2-> Sony Xperia X8-> Xperia Arc S (sexy!)->Xperia M->Xperia SP->Xperia E4g->LG G2 (x2, 1 black and 1 white)->Xperia Z1C->LG G flex 2 (literally hot!)->Galaxy S6 Edge Plus (x2: Gold Platinum and Black Sapphire)->S7 Edge-> Lenovo ZUK Z2-> Galaxy S8+-> Galaxy S9+ , Xiaomi MI MIX 2 (gpu better than s9+) All still working and since Sony x8 (except G Flex 2) all were immediately rooted and modded.

You will never see any difference on such a small screen between 1080p, 2k or 4k. Hell even 720p fits perfectly such a small screen. I have S8 and once I switch rendering from 720p to 2k there is very slight sharpness increase thats it. There is no way you will see difference in 4k from 1080p, which makes XZ premium completely useless phone

You guys added the watts of the USB A port 7,5W (5V/1,5A)
