That's what I mean that who's in the right mind to buy the premium variant if they make card slot available in its whole line except for it to be hassle-free. On reliability issue, it's not about its overall reliability per se. Having a card slot means another provided space inside your phone, and IMO, the more compact your phone, the better. Especially with the trend of having a more powerful chip, cooling system is much more of a concern now, there's so much to put inside that slim brick. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing if that were an option in a high-end phone. It's just a bad note when card suddenly dies inside a smartphone.

Not interested in camera on general, and not liking the old 660. So have to wait for 670/675/710 variant. I like gorilla glass 5 feature.

I have noticed the instant change of Camera Sensor there. It was supposed to be the SONY IMX586 sensor, right? But it changed into Samsung's GM1. A total downgrade if you ask me, same results as a 12 MP image of the Note 5 and Note 6 Pro. Since the reason was due to stocks, the actual IMX585 sensor may be on the Pocophone F2 and the Mi 9 as well as the Mi Mix 3S.
Now that is what we all have to wait for..

Aripcage, 10 Jan 2019Yes, I do agree with You. Only die-hard Xiaomi-sheeps don't know that Xiaomi is constantly pinging their servers back home. Install Intra app and tick "Show recent DNS queries" at the bottom and see for yourself the amount of servers Xiaomi pings.
Even if you don't own a Xiaomi phone, download POCO launcher and you'll get the same result.

Abunja, 10 Jan 2019microSD can fail after a long time, that's why most flagshi... moreYou must be ignorant if you think microSD card "reduces the phone's overall reliability" yes SD card can fail but it only happen when you get memory card from unknown brand, defective memory card or when the memory card gets damaged.
A good memory card from well known brands will last for years for example i still have a working 128MB SD card and 64MB Memory stick duo pro from my Nokia 6600 and Sony K750i.
The reason that smartphone manufacturers are ditching micro SD card slots in their devices, especially at the high end, is money.
Manufacturers can't charge a premium for an SD card slot, but they can charge a $100 for a few extra gigabytes of flash storage.
"Why would someone buy their 512/8 version if they decided to put an SD slot on their 256/8 one?" The answer is to expand the storage so you can store more files and you don't have to worry about memory when you record 4K@60fps, taking raw photos, High-resolution audio, and high definition HDR movie on your phone.
