You got better abilities or you just got longer fingers? People are not against big size screens, you like big size screen, fine, you got it! Someone else, more than 55% actually like 5.8 inch or smaller, but their choises are not so good! I have seen car driver during driving operating with mobile phone with two hands to type message! Crasy! How you type message by one hand if your thumb dont reach up to a letter! Yeah, not all got blessed with big hands. Its good you got your size of phone. I hope will be also smaller ones with good battery time. Actually, redmi 3 and 4 was ideal size for many. Too bad not any more this size with good battery.

Even me, cant tell exactly how things will be different in 10 years. For sure screens will be bigger and flexible but I am sure holographic screens will find their way, it is most convenient way of expanding phone sizes, and rollable screens could be future too.

Since I stopped using FB, I realized even an old phone can do its job in 2018(19). Thus I gave a new chance to my Xiaomi Mi4. And in addition I installed on it Windows Phone 10. Perfect performance. So I don't give a P even if the result was 24 inches. It is clear that the the phones which can be operated by humans are targeted to the elite which can afford to pay for Pixel 3 or Xperia Compact. But I decline to change my phone for a shovel. And I won't

is it really hard to understand that some people really do like phones you can comfortable carry with you and really use by one hand. i even scroll into web by one hand. onehanded mode scaling picture into one corner and would not be good solution.

false news, 14 Jan 2019i currently use "redmi 3", body size 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm.... moreIf you're female then please note that most females carry their phones in bags or wallets due to small pockets that really don't fit much more than a credit card.

If you're a man, then what type of pants are you wearing? My Mi Max fits easily in all my pant pockets as well as inside pocket in jackets.

Width wise there are many phones the size om Redmi 3 for one haneded use. Google Pixel 3, SGS9, LG Q7 and Nokia 3.1 to name a few.

To compare your Redmi 3 in pocket and hand it streches 8.5mm left side, then 69,6 across the back, then another 8.5mm on the right side. A total of 86,6mm (give or take some rounded edges)

Google Pixel 3 on the other hand streches 7.9mm left side, then 68.2mm across the back, then another 7.9 mm on the right side. A totalt of 84mm (give or take some rounded edges). And it's a little taller, but if you're wearing clothes for adults it should fit length wise as well.

As for navigation and one handed use on these taller dislays, it's really no different than 16:9 displays, you navigate for the most part on a lower quarter of the screen, then strech to the other side when needed and if you reach across the Redmi 3 you should just as easily reach across any of the mentioned phones and more.

More phones that should fit your hand here:

false news, 14 Jan 2019Let me be clear, PEOPLE WANT compact phones! According to p... moreYeah, but also keep in mind that most people are silly and say one thing yet do another :-)

Phones haven't gotten much bigger the past 2-3 or even four years even though the screens have, at the "cost" of slimmer bezels. People talking about their maximum desired screen size rather than maximum required footprint (lengt and width, with width being they key factor for one handed grip and use) can't be taken seriously.

Getting all current desired tech in a compact device (screen wise) will make it end up either very fat or making compromises (huge bezels) and not many will buy it. Hence sony is cutting their compact series. The compact series had small screens, but they were not very small devices. Perfect for those few who wanted a small screen and did not care if the phone itself was big.

Let's compare some 5.1" devices with some 5.8" ones, shall we?

Namely that SGS5 and 6 vs SGS8 and 9. The older ones were wider to hold, so essentially bigger in hand, yet they have smaller screens. Screen aspect and "edge" display being key factors.

Let's now put a "massive" 6.39" in the mix, the Lenovo Z5 Pro.

The difference in width (of 0,5mm) between the Z5 Pro (73mm) and the SGS S5 (72.5mm) is actually a lot less than the difference (4,4mm) between the SGS5 and the SGS8 (68.1) by quite a lot, nearly nine times as much in fact. So the size difference in width when going from the 5.1" SGS5 to the 6.39" Z5 Pro is significantly smaller than from SGS S5's 5.1" to SGS8's 5.8".

And for those rare occasions where you need to do a lot of one hand use and on "all of the screen", there are one-handed modes that scale down the screen to a size of your specification by sliding over the nav keys or quick ball (if using gesture navigation) in many UI's, such MIUI for Xiaomi.

Let's now take my phone, the fairly big Xiaomi Mi Max, which is 6.4", this is massivley bigger to hold than the 6,39" Z5 Pro, a massive 88.3mm vs only 73mm. But their screen size is on paper essentially the same.

I hope to have made it clear why talking about screen sizes rather than phone size makes no sense.

According to the poll 55% of respondents want the screen under 6 inches. The majority has spoken.

Let me be clear, PEOPLE WANT compact phones! According to poll:
                                  1) 55% want screen size NOT MORE THAN 5,8 inch.
                                  2) only 21% want screen size 6 inch
                                  3) only 45% want screen size 6 or more inch

Now, lets look on the market. I'm not sure on share, but seems that all phones are more than 6 inch screen size. Phones what you cannot put into jeans pocket or cannot use by one hand. WHY!?

6 inch screen is better for older people because it is much clear to read the contains. 5.2 inch display is better pocketable and large enough.
