With that logic, many people still wants a headphone jack and effectively benefits from it. It could be even a deal breaker for some people. If they don't keep it them I don't see them staying as costumer focused.

Eh understandable. They had massive bezels, too big for today's market anyways.

Jesus H Christ, this was one of the few phones I was eager to see exhibited. There definitely is a market and a lot of people enjoy using them. Instead of compact phones, these companies re-release a different colour half a year later. Now isn't that exciting...
Let's place bets how compact phones will be the "new" trend in couple of years, when some people will get sick of carrying phones size of satellite dishes in their pockets.

People wants it, but sales denied it.
Just focus on your main flagship Sony, if its very good, people will buy it & your sales will be higher and lower down your pricing as competition is getting higher.

Btw XZ2C thickness is perfect for ergonomics. Very hard to explain if you haven't used the phone but the phone is as thick as it's frame which is around 8mm but the pillow back is something that helps for the grip and it's totally non intruding.

I have a Xperia Z1Compact... great build, excellent 20mpix photo, fantastic water proofing... except... EXTRAORDINARILY STUPID idea of limiting ON PURPOSE to 16GB internal storage AND fairly slow speed external MicroSD while for the same 560€ I also had bought a Samsung Note 3 with 32GB storage.... what's the fuss ? Well since 2014 most Sony ONLY HAD 16GB and even until a few months ago only few XPERIAS had more than 32GB.... this is HORRIBLE PRODUCT DESIGN as if you stick a 20 mpix camera in one of these you should AT LEAST get a 64GB internal ... guess what....THAT WAS MY LAST SONY PRODUCT ! Sony GET >CUSTOMERS LIKE ME< and REAL PRODUCTS PEOPLE DESIGN THESE THINGS OR YOU WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS !!!

There is a market for small phones. If Sony just could understand that people don't want the 2 cm upper en chin bezels, that would be great. Don't even talk about the 2 cm thick xz2c crap.

People want compact phones, but they continue to hate on Sony despite the fact that they're pretty much the only manufacturer of those kinds of phones. Now they'll complain about compact phones being extinct.
That's like people are crying for the extinction of turtles, yet they themselves keep on hunting and killing them for money.

This is more of a proof that next compact will be a midranger like it was speculated at the very beginning of XZ4 leaks. Then suddenly XZ4 compact specs were bumped to 855 .
