With everything getting larger, 5.8 or thereabouts is now compact relatively speaking. And there are mid-range phones at that size. For example, I use Nokia 6.1 plus and can get by with 1-hand operation (most of the time).

Sony launches compact phones at flagship prices, offcourse there will be less sale as majority of people can't buy flagships. If any brand launces a midrange compact phone, it will sell like crazy. Just put a good camera and type C port. I don't care about screen resolution or processor or ram. I just want a phone which I can operate with one hand.

SONY. The only mobile manufacturer that has a history of pioneering gaming devices (PS), audio devices (Walkman) and cameras, yet never was able to successfully inherit them into their mobile phones. They should have been pawning Samsung & Apple today. Hmmm

A brilliant example of why every manufacturer is glueing the most easily worn out part of their product.

I believe the Compact from the renders is a midrange with SD675 or 710 and DOCOMO exclusive..
Iphone 8 is the most popular phone in Japan.
The best seller there among Xperia is XZ1.. It is the #5

My guess...
Ppl are waiting for XZ4 at MWC, but I think it is actually a 4K device...
There will be 3 things about it to be the first in mobile history.
One related to screen: probably 4K oled
One about camera: rumors of 8K videos
I also think only the 4K has 5G.

People complaining abt it here must realise they r very much the minority. I mean it's like when Windows phone was killed and the remaining users were wondering why? It's bcos mainstream users don't want it and maybe it's time for u to let go and adapt...

I am one of them who be happy if my phone have like 5 inch screen and 120mm tall with something 3000mah battery and SD636 or 660 in it. With decent camera and small bezels.
Even punch hole cam would be ok if it only would be in the are where customers can buy it under 250 euro. But no nothing in there. Only 6+ inch even on rugged phones
