anyway ... at gearbest the Redmi Note 7 is starting from ~$300, I doubt that they'll sell it for $130s as promoted earlier this week.

The sensor doesn't take full advantage of all the 48MP resolution, but the sensor itself contains 48 million pixels that work together to form larger pixels in exchange to lower resolution.
According to your fact, the sensor might be using an interpolated 48MP image rather than a true 48MP one, but it still begs the question as to why Samsung advertised it as a 48MP sensor and why it has similar properties to the Sony IMX586, which is considered a "true" 48MP sensor.
Obviously they differ in terms of photographic technique, but the point remains that there are still 48 million pixels inside the sensors on both Samsung and Sony.

Yeah sure, there's no dedicated ISP. The point still stands that it is a TRUE 48MP sensor containing 48 million pixels in a 1/2" sensor size.
Interpolated my arse.....it only switches to 12MP in low light for pixel binning, otherwise it will use all of its 48MP resolution.
But I guess you're just sad because your flagship phone is using a lower tier sensor than this mid ranger....

I feel MIUI now is too much bloatware and not too simple as it is used to be. Honestly, Samsung UI which used to have complex UI has a simple UI now and even no local app/3rd app. Yes, Samsung still have their own app but they all can be hidden/disabled.

They had released redmi note 3 and mi5 which was a steal for spec years ago (especially if you put costum rom)

More to limited water resistance than water proof actually there is no truly water proof phone in the world because even Ip68 certified phone also not truly water proof because that phone only can survive 1/2 hour in 1 metre water. For me the truly water proof concept should be the phone can survive longer in a deeper depth.

You get ads if your seller installs vendor rom. Gearbest is bad for that. And you may even get worse than just ads. That's why only buy from sellers who install official roms only. My Xiaomi is official Global ROM..used it for 2+ years - not one ad.
